## **Achievements and Performance**

The past financial year has been a quiet one for the Trust, with no fundraising activities having been undertaken and no expenses having been accrued.

The Trustees have been in contact with their partners in Fundatia Casa Kaleb in Romania throughout the reporting period in order to determine how best the funds that had been raised previously could be disbursed to them in order to assist those young people who benefit from their services in Cluj-Napoca.

However, the Trustees have not been satisfied that the work of Fundatia Casa Kaleb was sufficiently well organised in order to allow us to transfer funds to them and be certain that they would be used for the purposes for which they were given.

Therefore, the Trustees have agreed that no funds should be transferred to Fundatia Casa Kaleb during the year past. We continue to liaise with Fundatia Casa Kaleb in order to determine appropriate programmes and activities that Caleb House Trust may be in a position to fund in order to ensure that there would be full traceability of any funds that we would transfer to Romania.

Due to the lack of funds being utilised in Romania during the financial year, the Trustees considered it prudent that we would retain any funds that had been raised up until the end of the financial year and to suspend any further fundraising activities at this point.

Contingent upon a satisfactory agreement being reached with Fundatia Casa Kaleb at a future stage as to how any funds transferred would be utilised appropriately, the Trustees would be of a mind to end their activities and close the Trust once all funds have been distributed.

In carrying out our activities for the year, the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities and decisions made have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
