BANNAGH COMMUNITY PROJECT

- TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 2022 3

Bannagh Community Project continues to provide facilities for the education, social inclusion and integration of the diverse and remote rural community within its catchment area. In spite of continuing austerity, the institution continues to be well managed and attracts good support for a wide range of activities. These include patchwork, art classes, pilates and a music group, on a regular basis as well as offering a venue for charity concerts, card nights, funeral and birthday parties and other family celebrations. Any other organisations are free to use our facilities as and when required. Tables and chairs are regularly lent out for funeral wakes and family functions attracting voluntary donations.

This year we have staged a very successful charity concert, in aid of Alzheimer's Society N.I. and hall running costs, involving many local artists. A total of £1,759 was raised. Card players met and raised £516 in aid of a new pressurised water system to help eradicate any future flooding problems from the old loft based storage tank. A BBQ was held in June using the new gas BBQ obtained last year, this raised £273 towards hall running costs. The annual draw continues as a valuable contribution towards insurance costs.

Statutory payments include annual insurance, boiler maintenance, fire certification, entertainment licencing, electricity and oil, and general building upkeep and repairs.

Bannagh Community Project has been in operation now for 34 years, during which time it has relied entirely on the good will of our many volunteers who continue to give up their time and energies to ensure the Hall continues to run successfully.
