These included private, public and third sector organisallons and al Communlly level. Broadly, demand for our services came from 250/0 private sector, 40Yo public sector and 350/0 third sector. rainin We undertook three wns of our flagship programme Mediation Theory & Practice during this period, both on an open-ac¢ess basis and directly inlo organisations and community groups. We also delivered 8 range of shoTler Iralning courses both in person and online wilh our existing and new client base. We developed new short training programmes including Workplace Confllcl Resolution Skills, Immersive Conflict Resolution Practice and Managing Dlfficull Conversallons. We developed and pailnered with Queen's Universily Belfasl, and Ulster University, in the delivery of some of our programmes during Ihe year and into future years, Peacebuildin We concluded our Peace IV project on History, Heritage & Identity dialogues through Belfast City Council, complellng all prolect oblecllves. These included many training events, group facilitatlons and ¢0118tion of stories for generating project maleri8ls for use on new Greènways in Belfast. Wè allÈndèd the Unlt&d Nations Special Rapporteur on freedom of peaceful assembly and association in Viènna and presented lo the NIO on positive peace, in partnership with Queens Universily and the Institute for Economics and Peace. over The Board of Trustees mel bl-monlhly In Board meellngs and sub-groups meellngs throughout Ihe year. The Board were particularly allenlive lo the financial wellbeing and slraleglc direction of the organisation and a focus on supporting the organisalion through sub-commillees. During this perlod Iwo members resigned and three new members jolned the Board. We updated our Constitution and Articles of Association with the support of a local legal firm. lo ensure they were fit for purpose and relevant to our CUTrent and fulure organisational slruclure. We were successful in our applicatlon lo the Lollery funded Dormant Accounts for a 3 year programme lo increase the suslainabilily of the organlsallon. As part of Ihls programme a n&w post was created, Dlreclor ol Business Development, and recrulled into wlth Bobby Marno slarllng in February 2024. This programme will deliver new revenue streams and income opportunities for Ihe organisation as it seeks lo become more self- sufficient in il's Incomè genèration, We also started conversations with Glencree Tegarding a polenllal Peace Plus application for community mediation and developmenl. We developed and launched a new website to showcase our services and take bookings for our new tralnlng programmes. W& impl&menled and slarted usage of a new secure online mediation case management system. MNI continued to provide office space to a range of volunlaTy organisations and continued lo house lenanl oyganisations in the building.

The In¢ome of £157,261 marked an decrease of 16Yo on the prevlous year. The ¢apilal fund (primarily the MNI Building on 83 UniveTslly Street) is £264,761. There is no deferred income balance al the end of March 2024. Reserves Free Reserves are £1.702 whlch Is the net current assets on the Balance sheeL We have a reserves pollcy of slx months operaling costs, £80,000 which we ar8 Currently working towards. Rlsk Assessment The Board of Trustees, along with the Senior Management Team continued lo review and update the organisallonal Rlsk Reglster, to identify and manage areas of exposure. The greatesl risk that Medlation Northern Ireland faced in 2023124 r8lal8d lo cashflow squeezes arising from slow paymenls from debtors and this was carefully managed by the financial manager. Future Dev8lopm8nt In 2024125 our focus will be the conllnued dellvery of our strateglc plan objectives, as sel out abové. Wth 8 new Dlrector of Buslness Development now in post, a primary focus will be on developing new strategic relationships with client and funding organlsations lo support our work and increase our delivery for revénue generation, Governance & Management structurè Mediation Northem Ireland was established in 1991 as The Conflict Mediation Nelwork. In 1998 it became a company Ilmited by guarantee (N133978) with Memorandum & Articles of Association whose oblecls have been recognised as charitable by HM Revenue & Customs und&r reference XR16490. The Charity is registered with the Charities Commission for Northern Ireland, number N1100935. The membership of the Company is the same group of people as makes up Ils Board ofTruslees. There is not a public membership scheme.
