The Dlrectors who are the trustees for the purpose of charlty law present thelr report and the
unaudlted financial statements of the charltable company for the year ended 31 July 2025
The financlal statements have been prepared In accordance wlth the provlslons appllcable to
companies subject to the small companles, reglme and In accordance with FRS 102 The Financial
Reporting Standard appllcable in the UK and Republlc of Ireland,.
Please refer to page 4 in the Ststement of Finandal Positlon.
Structure, Governance and Management
Organised Structure
The Company was estsblished under a Memorandum of Assoclation which establlshed the objects
and powers of the company and is governed under Its Artides of Assoclation.
The members retire in accordance with the Articles of Associatlon.
Relevant motion will be put at the Annual General Meeting.

Risk Management
The Dlrectors have reviewed the rlsks faced by the charlty and believe that maintainlng the reserves
at the required level to contlnue the charitvs activities on a short-term basis, combined with the
annual review of financlal systems controls, will provide sufficient resources in the event of adverse
condltions.
Aims and Objectives

The main aim of Kldzone is to enhance the development and educatlon of chlldren aged 3 to 12
years of age in the Bessbrook, Newry and surrounding areas, by providing play-based learning
envlronments.
Kidzone is open to all children without distlnction of religion, culture, race or means.
Kidzone is divided into Pre-school and Afterschool provision as follows:

Key aims of the afterschool-
To enhance the development and educatlon for school aged chlldren and improve their personal and
soc6al care.
We achieved this alm throughout the year by
• Providing care for the children in a safe, secure and stimulating envlronment
Provlding a variety of experfences and opportunities available for all children
Providing care to enable parents to return to work or training
• Giving opportunities for parents to build their confidence as they had the opportunity to
become involved on the Board of Directors
Public Benefit Statement
The Directors of Kidzone conflrm that they have compiled with thelr duty under section 4(b) of The
Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 to have regard to the Charity Commission for Northern
Ireland's guidance on public benefft requirement has informed the activities of the charitable
company in the year ended 31 July 2025
Achievements and Performance
Kidzone
Kidzone is registered with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust and is Inspected annually to
ensure that high quallty care and education is provided for all children.
We are in a purpose-built facility whlch meets the highest childcare standards, Trust regulations and
Environmental Health standards.
All necessary registrations are held and reviewed on a regular basls by the regulatory bodies to
ensure the hfghest standards are maintained.
Kidzone supports the cross-community requirements of the charity.
Kidzone Playgroup
We are a member of the 'Early Years Organlsatlon for Young Children.,

Kldzone playgroup offers 24 places for children aged 3 and 4 years old, In a mornln8 sesslon.
Kidzone playgroup is Inspected by SHscf on an annual basis. There were no recommendatlons from
thls reporL
The playgroup caters for presthool and pre-pfesthool chlldren.
The pre-school places afe funded by DENI through the PSEP Pfogram.
We were inspected by The Education and Tralnlns Inspectorate on 19• Aprll 2018 and the report
conduded that the playgroup has a hl8h level of capaclty for Sustalned Improvement In the Interest
of all the children.
The prfrpre-school places are funded by the Pathway Fund. Thls helps to keeps the fees affordable
for all families.
The play8roup Implements the Highscope approach to early childhood care and education.
Thls Is a recognlsed standard with Earty Years and Soclal Services,
Highscope Identifies and bullds on thlldren's strengths, Interests and abilitles.
The Highscope approath has been developed by fesearth over many years and Is used
internationally.
The staff are all trained to level111 or above and have years of experlence and expertise.
We also provide the opportunity for others to leam and become trained as th11dcare workers.
Kidzone Afterschool Club
The afterschool provides quality afterschool care for 24 thildren each day, aged from 4- 12 years.
Throughout thls year, we had 32 famllles who avalled of the Afterschool.
To ensure that we are continulns to Pfov5de a qualfty servlce we are Inspected by Soclal Sefvlces
annually. The report this year was very posltlve wéth no recommendations or requirements. We also
received feedback from parents and carers at three polnts throughout the year. This feedback was
very posltive wlth all parenys content with the quality of care and developmenL
Our servlce contlnues to be Invaluable to local famllles and by providln8 thls afterschool we are
giving local children the opportunity to access a quallty servlce that otherwlse they may not have
access too.
We have four staff members tralned to level S and all other stsff member5 trained to a minimum of
level 3.
We contlnue to promote equality of opportunities and welcomin8 to all re8ardless of speclal needs,
spedal requlrements, rellglon, culture, race or means. We had thlldren attendlng wfth speclal needs
who had a one to one support We also had thlldren attendlng who had English as an addltlonal
language and children whose placement was supported by soclal servlces.
Financial Review
The charivs total funds amounted to £51,635 at the perlod end 31 July 2025
The net incoming resources for the year end 31 July 2025 amounted to £5.698
Reserves Policy
Kidzone has a reserves policy.
Directors Responsibilities
Directors are responsible for preparing the financial statements In accordance with appllcable law
and United Kln8dom Accounting Standards (United Kln8dom Generally Accepted Accounting
Practlce).
Company law requlfes the Dlrectors to prepare financlal statements for eath financlal year which
give a true and falr view of the state of the affairs of the tharltable company and of the incomln8

resources and application of resources, Including the income and expenditure, of the charitable
company for that year.
In preparin8 these financial statements the Directors are requlred to:
Select sultable accounting polldes and apply them consistentlv
Observe the methods and prlndples In the Charities SORP (FRS 102)
Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent
State whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subject to any
material departures disclosed and explalned In the flnanclal ststements
Prepare the financial statements on the golng concern basis unless It Is Inappropriate to
presume that the charitable company will contlnue in operation.
The Directors are responsible for keeplng adequate accountlng records that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any tlme the financlal positlon of the charitsble company and enable them to ensure
that the financial statements comply wlth the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the tharitsble company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the
preventlon and detection of fraud and other irregularltles.
Share Capltal
The Company is limited by guarantee, not having a share capital.
Taxation status
The company is recognised as a tharity by HM Revenue & Customs. Accordingly, the company has
availed of the exemptions contslned in Chapter 3-part 11 Corporation Taxes Act 2010 and sectlon
256 Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992.
Small Companies Exemption
The above report has been prepared In accordance wlth the special provlslons relating to small
companles within Part 15 of the Companles Act 2006.
