The financial statements for the ch￿￿table company were preparnl for the period 1st Apiil 2017 to 31# March 2018. For the accounting year to 3151 March 2018 the company was entilled to exemption from audit under wtion 477 of the Companies Act 21KK> relaling to small companies and the accounts were prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subiect to the small companies regime and with the Financi￿ Reporting Standard for sn￿ller Entities (effective Apiil 2(X)81; They also c(mply wÉth the Charities, ￿RP(FIs I(Y2). Objectives and Activities The Pury￿S of the tharity are.. "To promote the I￿nefit of the inhabitants of the Kilkeel area and its environ8 (the'area of i￿lt") without distinction of se raee or politicaL religious or other opinions by advan(ing education and providing facilities in the Interests of wcial welfare for recreation and other leisure time (tcupation with the object of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants." Its main activities dwing the year fully supported the charAtabie purposes, namely, in n￿intaining facilities in the ntre of Kilk￿ which were accessible to all al￿ in these premises providing numerous educational prwarns and s(Kial occasions for the public benefit. KCA'S deterniination to itnprove life in the environs in Kilkeel led to an increase in the list of activilles and events implemented during the year.

In following our Obj.￿tiveS and planning our activities for the year, the trustees confirni they have had regard to CCNI PBRI The Public Benefit Rquirement: Statutory Guidan￿ produced by the Charity Commission The Facilitie8 During the year KCA'S facilities are rented. in which our Cwrdinator works to organise teachers, talkers and demonstrators to provide a range of interesting and educational cla&ses to older people. The Co-ordinator also has the duty of fidfilling grant applicationg to eTh8ure the rnnning of the office and sufficient funds are procured from 8rant Ix)dies to provide for the classes. Her hard work in this is gratefully appreciated by the whole The Educational Programs Durin8 the period 0£ April 2017 to March 2018, KCA de]ivered the following range of classes and programmes that were in line with the obj'ectives of the charity: Mobile Phone, I￿ classes, Art and Art dass {10 classes, 2 se&sions), Faster Craft, Jewellery and Craft x2, Watereolour sessioTh B(Ku4 aay m(delling 2 sessions Christmas craft and Box sessions, Fun & Games. Local History Talk 'Work House,, "Patch Work storf,. The year also saw a I￿ge numi*r of events attended such as "Making Space for Me" workshopi Parkinson's Awareness Week Aftemwn Tea with the Quiet Drawn Thread Workshop. Mournes DEA public Cor￿]1t8￿0n on Kitty's Road Playtng Field, Fire trainin& Hearing Loss aADiC, Art Exhibitio￿ Craft and Photography, Positive agein& AAA kneening and"The Heart of tAving & Dyinty,. The Welfare of Inhabitants Programmes thai ran in con)u￿tion with welfare of the inhabitants of Kilkeel as its main aitn included.. speakers Im Citizen's Advice. Refiexologyi Yoga 10 Classes and a Walking Group. To increase a serlse of cornmuntty KCA outlngs were aL￿ arranged to Lunch in Sweet Pea Café, Outings to DobbI￿81n Lisbum Outin8S to Dundalk Tea R(x)m and a KCA Get Together.

Achievements and PerfOrn￿nce KCA sees that its wider ￿nelitS to society a whole indude helping our older people (beneficiaries) ase in a ￿)SitIve way. KCA'S pro8Tammes directly and positively improve the qualkty of older people's lives by offering a V￿led progran)Jne of accessible, relevant and enjoyable activities, open to everyone, assisting those taking part to ￿ happier and healthier while surrounded by a COU￿unity and s(xial network AddilioTwlly, KCA combat isolatiory bring people from all cultures and denominations to take part collectively in community based activities. This year due to austerity cuts in funding from Government bodies, however, KCA did lose its funding of the Parent and T(Kldler programme Eor the rural community. It is hoped that with the restoration of government in tinie, that this programme will be r￿1n5tatea. Financial Review KCA has no recogni￿ gains or losses as money is accrued as Grant applications are approved and funding is obtained to run the classes.
