## **Eagle Glen Community Partnership Ltd** ## **Report of the Trustees for the year ended 28 February 2023** ## **Charitable Objectives and Activities** The Charity’s objects are specifically restricted to the following: – To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Errigal Parish area and its environs (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by associating with the statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to: - (a) provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said residents. - (b) relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability or other disadvantage. - (c) advance community by providing facilities and amenities for community and development voluntary groups and organisations. ## (d) advance education. ## **Activities:** During the year the activities of the charity generated £18,494.00 These charitable activities are analysed as follows: Funding from Causeway Coast & Glens and Causeway Volunteer Centre. Support Volunteering in the local Community Providing certain Public amenities to benefit our local Community Provide activities/classes/information evenings for Children, Adults & Our Senior Citizens. Advice/advocacy/information. Funding was applied for and successful bid made to Brockabuoy Windfarm. 1 ## Hire of rooms: – - (i) Advance education – On average 10 -14 attendees per class/per night. I.e Irish Language Classes, Health promotion, faithbased classes, Women’s Group, an over 30 fitness classes for Men and Women. - (ii) Advance Community Development – Annual facilities for Agivey Cycling Club, Provide Summer Scheme for Children - (iii) Room Hire from Naiscoil (Irish Medium School). We have referred, to NI Charities Commission literature as guidance when pursuing our aims and objectives and in planning for the future year(s). ## **Financial Review & Risk Management** No significant events have occurred since the date of the balance sheet on page 4 of the annual accounts which affect the Charity, or which materially affect the Charity’s published accounts for the year to 28 February 2023. ## **Income & Accrued Income** Income from room hire is identified in the accounting year that includes the rental period. There was no unpaid rent at 28 February, 2023. All other income published in the annual accounts comprises amounts received during the year. ## **Restricted Funds** None of the funds of Eagle Glen Community Partnership Ltd fall within the category of Restricted funds. Being un-restricted funds, all such funds are expendable at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the aims of Eagle Glen Community Partnership Ltd while at the same time maintaining adequate funds for working capital and planned fixed capital investment programmes. 2 ## **Expenditure** All expenditure is accounted for and further adopts an accruals basis; expense-type descriptions have been adopted and all costs aggregate in appropriately described order. Expenditure is recognised where there is a legal obligation to make payment. ## **Risk Management** It is the assessment of the Trustees that the charity is not exposed to any major risks, particularly those relating to its operations or to its finances. The trustees are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate the charities exposure to any such major risk. During the year the charity consolidated its credit terms whereby the charity’s trade creditors were converted to loan capital. This loan by John Mitchel’s GAC Glenullin returns the Charity to the initial funding structure at its inception. The loan is interest free and has no immediate payment terms. ## **Structure Governance and Management** ## _Governing Document:_ Eagle Glen Community Partnership Ltd is a registered charity; Northern Ireland Charity Commission number 100905. The Charity is governed by its Memorandum. ## **Organisation** Eagle Glen Community Partnership Ltd is managed by its trustees who also carry out the day-to-day routine needs of the Charity. None of the Trustees receive remuneration or benefits from their work for the charity. The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 65(3) of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2013 (the 2013 Act) and that an independent examiner’s report is needed. Company law requires the Directors to prepare the financial statements for each year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources including income and expenditure of the organisation for that period. In preparing the financial statements, the directors are required to- - select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently - observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent - state whether applicable UK Accounting standards have been followed subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements 4 4 - prepare financial statements on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will continue in operation The trustees of Eagle Glen Community Partnership Ltd are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. In so far as the trustees are aware : – - There is no relevant information to which Eagle Glen Community Partnership Ltd.’s Independent Examiner is unaware of • The trustees have taken all steps that they ought to have taken to make themselves aware of any relevant audit information and to establish that the Independent Examiner is aware of that information.
