Charitable Purpose:
The school vms set up to t8ach physical educat1￿. self-protection. self-awareriess and
dietary education. Furthermore it promotes Kenpo Karate as an amateur sport. The direct
ben8fils vthich flow fr(Mn this purpose ￿1cludeS in¢￿aSed fitness. womotiThJ a healthy diet.
partlcipating as an indmdual or part of a team in Amatew competitions.
The benèfits can be demonstrated by member5 athieNryrNJ the next levellgrade vathin their
age group. The °grading" process Is (3rried oui by t￿) qualified Instr￿tors. As a member
becomes fitter this helps athieve the required "grading".
The Derg Valley School of Kenpo Karate had another successful year for th8 beneficiaries
vtho are people tibryng in around the area of Castlederg. Th& actmties are ouUlned below:
Mernbers attend at least one dass in I)￿g Valley Leisure Centre. Castlederg vAth an
additional class avallable In Coolcreaghy Hau.
All rnembers progressed at least one"grading" arKI most junior members progressed 213
"gradings". One member of the dub obtained her Black BelL
Several memb8r5 attended a Training Camp in June in Co. Wexford vjhich ￿as faolitated by
Masler Lee Epperson. USA vtho was very impressed by the training given by our instructors,
He then came to Castlederg and held Iwo workshops in Coolcreaghy Hall for all members of
the dub. Youth members were accompanied by the correct number of supervisor5 as per
Child Protection Policy. These supervisors have had Child ProtectKJnNunerable Adult
training and have been Access Nl checked.
Members travelled to 3 different competitions and 6 member5 of the dub received medals
for their achievements.
It was necessary to repl￿ several pieces of safety equlpment which were starting to show
considerable signs of wear al a cost of £231XI the (x)st of which was o)vered by membership
fees.

I have exarnined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and
my examination was carrid out in accordance with the general directions given by the
Charity Commission for Northem Ireland under section 65{9)b of the Charities Act. My
examination reviewcd the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the
accounts presented with those records.
My Tole is to ststc whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause
to believe:
l. The account records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Acl
2. That the accounts do not accord with those account records
3. That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities
Act
4. That there is funder information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to
be reached.
I have completcd my examination and have no concerns in respect of the matters 110 4 listed
bove and in connection with following the Directions of the Charity Corntnission for
Northern Ireland. I found no matters that require drdwing to your attention.
