  2. Chairman’s Statement for 2018/19 – Appendix – 2

  3. Membership – MC – The club continues to grow each year, and this is testament to the work being done on all levels. Highlighted that we are now a club that is attracting players as opposed to the past when we lost a lot of players to other clubs. MC & JD explained that there are currently some problems in all age groups with the TEAMFEE monthly payment scheme. There is money that is not being paid either by members signed up to the scheme or by those who have stated that they want to pay cash. An action plan is being put in place where each year group will have a dedicated coach to oversee the income of cash or to advise parents of the benefits of signing up to the TEAMFEE scheme. MC has initiated this action plan already with the 2010 group and it has been a success to date.

  4. Fundraising – JD – This must now be a priority as no fundraising has taken place in the past 2 years. All age groups expected to play an active role in this.

  5. Minibus – MC – The club are close to securing a minibus and its now just a matter of sourcing the right one for us.

  6. Trips . MC – Club is proposing that the 2006 & 2009 age groups go to Celtic for a weekend in March 2020 (Itinerary details have been provided to coaches). This opportunity is also available to 2007 and 2008 teams.

The 2008 group proposed to attend the Boyne Cup next year. Feedback from 07s who took part this year was positive. 08 coaches to come back with an answer.

The trip to Boston that was to take place in 2021/22 is now postponed until a later date as this is also the clubs 50[th] anniversary and a series of events planned for the occasion will take priority.

2010 age group currently discussing future trip to Barcelona tournament.

  1. Derry City Academy – One 2006 player and 4 players from the 2007 group have been invited to trials for the DCFC academy team for 2020. MC – The club fully supports this opportunity for the boys and have given the players and their parents our best wishes. Davy and his team have been commended for the send off they have given their boys, and this has also been recognised by others outside of Don Bosco’s. Further clarification has been requested from DCFC on their ideas of this leading to a ‘future partnership’ between both our clubs. There has been no reply yet.

  2. Limavady Utd – A few of our 2006 players have been for a trial with Limavady Utd and this was also a worthwhile exercise with positive feedback. Possibility of a player development partnership taking place with Limavady next year (for the D&D).

  3. CK Centre – MC outlined the difficulties with previous tenants of upstairs and the reasons for their departure. Hopeful that a new tenant will be in place soon and this will be an opportunity for the 08’s and 09’s to have access to fitness training. Important that this is given full support by both age groups.

13. AOB

Prize Giving – Dates yet to be decided but this will take place in January.

Foyle Cup 2020 – Entries will have to be sorted soon. May have to be a slight increase in cost per player next year as the cost of entry as risen.

Equipment – DF suggested that coaches get winter coats. The possibility of obtaining funding via grants to be looked at. MC – Any age group that feel they require equipment to let us know.

Jimmy – MC thanked everyone on behalf of the Crumley family for their help after Jimmy’s passing.

MEETING CONCLUDED.
