The financial statement5 comply with the Charities Act INII 2022 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities., ststement of Recommended Practise applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 leffects've 1 January 2019.1 The Chanty is governed by a constitution. It's office 15 at 32 Maybrook Park, Derry, BT48 7TP.The company is registered Northern Ireland charity. The charity number is NIC 100833. Derry City Choir Festival, and Charity events included Ardnashee School and college on tsvo occasions. Pagg 1
Doire Calgach Singer8 Tru8tee#' Annual Report for the Year End•d 30 June 2024 Our purposes and activities Doire Calgach Singers is a Cross-community choir, with approximately 27 members who continue lo meet regularly to leam the art of choral singing and organise and assist in the organising of performances for the benefit of the public. We work in partnership with other musical, church and charity groups to provide opportunities for the general publi¢ lo learn and appreciate music. The open membership provides equal opportunities for individuals from different cultures, religions, ages and disabilities to come together. We have represented our City by continuing lo perform in the International Choral festival and Jazz festivals and members have played active roles in supporting International Choirs from Europe during their b'me in Oery. Hence continuing lo work in partnership wth other musical org8nisalion5 lo promote choral singing in the City, UK and Ireland. We introduce the general public to choirs, choral singing and music of different genres by singing in public venues such as shopping centres. chur¢h halls. hotels. and the local railway station. On request, we ¢onlinue 10 5UPPOrt local churches and charities by providing music for various services and functions. In relation to the choir itself, and the people we meet during performances, we offer opportunib'es for people of all ages lo come together on a regular basis therefore reducing social isolation and improving emotional health and wellbeing. This need for such activity has been really evident since the pandemic where social isolation wa5 difficult lor so many people and as a result impa¢ting on individual health and mental wellbeing. In shaping our obiecb"ve$ for the year and planning our activities, the trustees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit requirement IPBR11. We endeavour lo eneourage a range of people and organisalions to take advantage of our experttse, to make use of our seNices and we respond positively to requests to perform. We have pul these strategies into action through various programmes and in our programme for the coming 2024-2025 season. Furthermore, the programme of acb'vilies focuses very much on supporting our members who value having a purpose and reason to attend practice5, and who thoroughly enjoy perfoming thin the community. Volunteers All involved with the Charity do so on a voluntary basis and this has been working very well for many year5. Choir activity is very important lo all al practices and performances. socially and individually and group contribub.ons result in the promotion of positive mental health and support for all members. The majorty of the choir are now older people who continue to attend and value being part of the choir community. Page 2

Annual Report for the Year Ended 30 June 2024 Achlevement8 and perfornian¢e During this year we continued lo practise regulady, perform when requested, support local major festivals through performances in community venues and volunteer in the delivery of the festivals. We have sadly lost a number of members through bereavement however we have managed to maintain OUT core 25 group with new members joining us this year. We have managed lo perfonn for 100's of local people,. with international choirs in community concerts., and we have encouraged the participation and inclusion of those with special needs in the festivals by singing with the school children at their morning assembly. Flnanclal review During the year income of £4,470 was received and cosls of £3,694 were incurred lo leave a surplus for the year of £776. Costs Included depreciation of £62 this year. Ignoring depreciation the cash surplus was £838. When added to opening reserves of £4,305 the reserves at the end of the year were £5,081 which were all unrestricted. The Trustees were pleased with the SuIts for the year. All reserves at the year end a free reserves. ReseNe8 policy and going concem Reserves are needed to bridge the gap betsveen the spending and receiving of income and to cover unplanned emergency costs. Due lo the nature of the Charity, no aclivilies are started or costs incurred until funds are secured from memters. The Management Committee consider that only nominal reserves a necessary to meet future costs. The Iruslees have reviewed the circumstances of the Charity and consider that the is secured funding in place that is adequate to fund activities for the foreseeable future. The trustees are of the view that the Charty is a going concern. Plans for futurn p•riod8 We plan to continue our choir praclises and will endeavour to perform at as many events as we can manage including our charity perlormanc£s and anywhere we can encourage people with our music.
