Report 2024

Over the last few years we have had hundreds of young people coming in off the streets to our youth clubs and drop in facilities. We have felt that over the last year we have really connected with these kids and developed trust.

This has been another exciting, fruitful and successful year. As we have been with these kids for quite a few years now we really feel we are beginning to make good deep connections with the young people. We feel we are having a major positive influence on them and can see them beginning to grow, develop and mature.

During the summer months of 2024 we ran three projects:

Summer Intervention Project Summer Camps Summer Scheme

During these summer projects we were able to connect with over 50 young people providing diversionary activities to get them off the streets and into the centre. These activities ranged from arts & crafts or dance for the girls and football for the boys. We also organised team games which pitted boys against girls but often ended in arguments!!

Summer Intervention Project

This project saw young people engage with young people from either side of the dividing wall. We arranged activities and games as well as workshops that allowed the young people to talk about their issues, their communities, what they had in common and what the good things were about living in their areas. The young people attended a youth summer camp for a week in Ganaway in August.

This project saw new relationships and friendships established as well as great connections, learning and development.

Summer Camps Programme

This programme actually ran into October due to funding issues. The project helped create a cross community project that brought together groups of

young people from Falls & Shankill communities. The project ended with a residential to Lusty Beg ij Co. Fermanagh.

Summer Scheme

The summer scheme was open to all and was a fantastic time for all as many games were played, activities and arts & crafts and dance. This fun environment helped the young people get off the streets giving them somewhere to come during the summer months.

In September 2024 we launched a youth drop in on Sunday nights with around 40 young people attending.

Weekly Youth Activities

Our weekly youth activities comprise of an after schools drop in, Friday night drop in for older teens, Saturday night youth club and Sunday night youth church.

We have around 50 kids attending the youth club on Saturday nights and around 40 attending the Sunday night drop in with about 20 attending the after school drop in. We also have around 30 young people who attend and have been part of specific projects or midweek drop in.

Conclusion

We’d like to thank all our volunteers who make Warehouse Project happen and have a great influence on so many young people. Their hours of dedication and service is extremely valued in this project.

We look forward to 2025 and many more months of positive influences and relationships being built and established through the work of The Warehouse Project.
