BELFAST NATURAL HISTORY & PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF BELFAST NATURAL HISTORY & PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial stalemènts of Belfasl Natural History & Philosophical Society (the charity) for the year ended 31 October 2023. Responsibilities and basis of report As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. In accordance with the terms of my engagement, and to assist you to fulfil your duties under the relevant charity laws and regulations. I have compiled the financial statements of Belfasl Natural History & Philosophical Society for the year ended 31 October 2023, set oul on pages 5 10 14, from the accounting records and information and explanations you have given to us. It is my responsibility to.. examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under section 65{9llb} of the Charities Act state whether particular matters have come lo my attention. Independent examlnerfs statement I have examined your charity accounls as required under section 65 of the Charilies Ad and my examination was carried Out in accordance with the general Diredions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9llb} of the Charities Act. My examination included a rewew of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual ilems or disclosures irs the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees conceming any such matters. My role 15 to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause lo believe: That accounting records were nol kept in accordan￿ with section 63 of the Charitie5 Act 2. That the accounts do not accord with thosè accounting records 3. That the accounts do not comply with Ihe accounting requirements of the Charities Act 4. That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. I have completed my examination and have no cOn￿rn$ in respect of Ihe matters11) to14} listed above and, in connection with following the directions of the Charity Comfflission for Northern Ireland, I have found no matters that require drawing io youf attention.
