Mission, Objectives and Stsate9y
Objectives
The charrtable purpose of the Society ofAfrican Missions {SMA) the advancement of ￿uCatiOn and religion.
The direct benefits which flow from the SMA purpose indude improved spiritual awa￿ne$S and refigious well being
as a result of various aspects of work undertaken by The Society. These beneffts are detnonstrated through fe￿￿back
from the generd public together with evaluations piovmled by attendees at cOnferen￿S and retreats held al The
Societvs facilities. The purposes" of The Society are entirety benefical and do not lead to any harrn. The
beneficiaries of The Soaety's purposes are the general public to include p￿pIe Iwing wrthin Ihe island of Ireland who
wish to explore and enhance their spiritual and religious V￿lfare. A private benefit to trustees may arise due to their
facilitation of conferences. courses and other educational aclivilies. Through such arAivities trustees gain skills and
experien￿ which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the
benefit is provKled to The SoryeV$ benefKiaries.
The Soaety ensures the upkeep. maInten￿Ce and provision of a retreat and conference centre offering a modern.
comfortable. well equipped facility in Ihe most idyllic of rural settings away from the noise and distractions of everyday
life. The beauliful grounds, tranquil. pea￿[U1 al￿¥js￿e￿ along with the modern facilities make it the perfect venue
for retreat5 and conferences.
Results and Dividends
At the end oflhe finanaal year the tharity ha5 assets of £303.177l￿2l- £307.UJ) and liabilities of £169.79512021
- £183.435). The net assets of the th￿lty have inueased by £8,927.
In a￿ordance with the Arkncles of Associalion, the directors retire by rotslion and, being eligible, offer themselves for
re-election.
