Chairperson’s welcome and thanks.
September 2022 saw Denamona Pre School welcome 10 PAEGS funded children with additional 26 pre-pre school children during the year.
Staffing for the academic year was Emma-Jayne as Leader, Lauren was appointed Deputy Leader, Judith as SEN pre school asst and Gillian, pre school asst.
In addition to Lauren being appointed Pre School Deputy Leader, she also achieved her Level 5 qualification and we would just like to congratulate her on that. It was a lot of hard work.
Engage 2 Funding enabled the extension of speech and language and music and rhyme specialist input from Lisa and Sheena,
Relax Kids also continued in various different formats, as mentioned by Emma Jayne.
The Annual Social Services inspection which took place on 24[th] October was largely positive. This is highly commendable, especially to Emma Jayne as there is quite a volume of paperwork and preparation to be done for this.
A number of fundraising events were organised throughout the year. There was a coffee morning in aid of Children in Need and Easter Egg hunt again, which was also open to the community. In addition to this, the staff hosted a Mother’s Day tea party for all the key ladies involved in the pre schoolers lives and just so the Dads didn’t feel left out – they also had Donuts for Dads to mark Father’s Day.
Our Sharing form the Start programme continued with some Round Robins and local meet-ups. We also had a number of visits from other key members in the community, such as Police and Fire Brigade.
The Pre School year ended with a trip to Cooktown and McDonalds and the Pre School graduation ceremony, which is always a lovely way to end the year and mark this milestone occasion.
It just remains for me to thank the pre-school staff all their hard work last year and to welcome Julie on board. As always, it has been a pleasure to work so closely with you for the past year and I look forward to working together on further developments this year.
