Trustee Report 2022
Colossians 3:17
"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Introduction
I would like to start by giving thanks to the Lord, for his wondrous provision for the work during 2022. This was a very challenging year with the war in Ukraine, sending the cost of living prices to record highs. But we have been so blessed with the level of support that we received from our supporters, enabling us to continue the work.
Cost of Shipping
The cost of shipping our cuddly bears saw a sharp and steady increase throughout 2022, with the added complexity caused by the many strikes by Royal Mail.
This year we continued with our existing global shipping suppliers UPS and Parcleforce and they have again, consistently been the best value and most user friendly.
Although surprisingly, we found that in many circumstances it was actually cheaper to source new cuddly teddy bears and have them shipped from the factory directly to the clinics and orphanages rather than post preloved Teddies from Northern Ireland.
China Zero Covid
With the Gen 2 bears being designed in Hong Kong, we did face some difficulties with manufacturing slow downs and back logs, due to the zero covid policy. But we are truly thankful that all our talking Spud Bears did make it to their new homes to carry out the Lords work as planned.
Next Gen Solar Chargers
We have been so blessed to be able to continue to send an additional 56 top grade Aluminium cased USB Charging 5V 2A units, which also contain a high powered LED torch. Which provides a free source of light to people during the night. These have been sent to existing Spud Bear projects in Africa.
Thank You
I would like to finish by thanking each and everyone who has generously supported Spud Bear Ministries and enabled the work, to bring the Love of Jesus, along with comfort and life saving information to so many children.
