Structure, Governance and Management The Trust is governed by the Trust Deed and 15 registered with The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under Northern Ireland Charity Number 100778 since 21 May 2015. All trustees give their time freely and no remuneration or other benefits are received. Objectives and Activities The Trustees shall hold the T￿$t fund and its income upon TTUSt to apply them for the following objects:_ To relieve poverty. advance education and promote good health by the provision of assistance, equipment and facilities at the W H Wylie M¢morial Children's Orphanage, Kenya. Statement of Com pliance In deciding upon and planning our activities for the year, the Trustees have given careful consideration to the Chailty Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve our Charity's purpose5 and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries. The direct benefits which result from providing a home for orphaned children include improved health and reduced lev¢ls of stress and anxiety- In addition, the children are provided with an education which would not otherwise have been the case as evidenced through feedback and numbers attending. Financial Review Our main sources of funds this year have been our monthly donations while payments out have been for such items as school fees, food, clothes. mattresses, bed linen. water storage facilities etc. Gift Aid is sought for relevant donations. Respective responsibilities of charity trustees and examiner As the Charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. Basis of independent examiner's report We have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and our examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act. Our examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters. Our role is to state whether any material matters have come to our attention giving us cause to believe: That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act. 2. W H Wylie Memorial Children's Orphanage Fund Notes to the financial ststements for the year ended 31 December 2022 Accounting policies Set out below are principal accounting policies which have been adopted in the compilation of the Receipts and Payments Account and the Statement of Assets and Liabilities. (a) Reeeipts and Payments Aecount All items of income and expenditure included within the Recetpts and Payments Account have been accounted for on a cash receipts basis. (b) Ststement of Assets and Liabilities (i) Fixed Assets The charity owns the oryjhanage building in NaiTobi, Kenya at a cost of £40.000. (e) Fund Accounting Endowment funds are funds, the capital of which must be retained either pennanently or at the charity's discretion; the income derived from the endowment is to be used either as restricted or unrestricted income funds depending upon the purpose for which the endowment was established in the first place. Restricted funds comprise (a) income from endowments which is to be expended only on the restricted purposes intended by the donor and (b) revenue donations or grants for a specific charity's activity intended by the donor. Unrestricted funds are income funds which are to be spent on the charity's general puryyoses. Designafrd funds are general funds set aside by the charity's for a specific use in th¢ fut￿e.
