Galbally Youth & Communlty Association is a company limited by guarantee governed by Its
memorandum and articles of association whlch was adopted on 24lh October 1995. It is registered
with the Charlty Commission for Northern Ireland.
The trustees Ilsted above manage and govern the organisation and all declsions are made at
committee level. Martin Rafferty acts as Chairperson, Noel McGeary a5 Secretary and Michael
O'Hagan as Troasurer. In addition 10 the Irustees the organlsation relies on Ihe assistance of
approxlmately frffy volunteers in relallon to fundraising, planning and dellvering a r8nge of local
activities and events.

ObJectlve8 and actlvities
In setting our objectives and planning our activitles for the year the Trustees have given careful
consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to ensure
that the activities have helped the charity achieve it's purposes and provide a public beneflt to the
beneficiaries.
The Charitable Objectives of our organlsatlon are as follows.
The advancement of citizenship or community development
The advancement of education
The prevention or rellef of poverty
The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science
The relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, dlsablllty, flnanclal hardshlp or other
disadvantage

Providing le8dershlp and managemont for Galbally Communlty Centre as a central rural hub
provldlng a range of servlces for people Ilvlng In Galbally, Cappagh and surroundlng communltles.
Ensure the long term sustalnablllty of Galbally Community Centre and ensure that It Is maintalned
to a hlgh standard for communitylpublic use.
Worklng in partnership with other local organisalions {e,g, Galbally Pearses GAC, Paddington
Playgroup and Out of School Club, Cappagh Village Regeneration Group, Country Club, Galbally
Youth Club, Galbally Friends Fund) to address local Issuos and Improve quality of life for local
people.
Worklng In partnershlp with statutory agencies and other communlty and voluntary sector
organisations lo add value to the range and quality of services and actlvlties provided for local
people.
Develop the knowledge, skills and capacity of local people through tralnlng and educational
activities.
Improve health and wellbeing of local people through a range of Innovative health and wellbeing
programmes.

Achlevements and performanca
Main achievements in this period include;
Delivery of Game Changer, a programme targeting young people aged 16-25 in areas of personal
development, employability and good relations.
Commenced delivery of Year 1 on new Education Authority Specificalion for Torrent DEA. working
in partnership wlth St, Patrick's Youth Club, Donaghmore,
Inltial work undertaken to prepare for construction works to see building on new Youth Annexe at
Galbally Communlty Centre.
Range of health and wellbelng tasks and semlnars ho8ted.
Blood Transfusion Service hosted.
Continued malnt6nance and management of Galbally Community Cenlre, providing hlgh quality
community facilities.
New Coffee Shop opened on site, creatlng local employment and enhancing visitor experience.
Peak Fllness (gym facility) continues to go from strength lo strength, adding additional classe8
and growing membership, improving hoalth outcomes and reducing health inequalitlos.
Walking for Health Group for 50+ stlll going strong and undertook a range of weekly walklng trlps.
Gymnastics classes and various dance and fitness classes continued on a weekly basis.
Provided facllitles for contlnued use by local Playgroup and Afterschool Club,. Galbally Pearses
GAC; Cannyman Community Arts., Galbally Country Club,. Galbally Parent and Toddler. Galbally
Youth Club.
Contlnued fu ndralslng to ensure that the organlsatlon remalns suslalnable and lo facllltate all
necessary maintenance and upkeep of Galbally Community Centre.
Flnanclal revlew
The financial statements for the year were presented at the AGM and accepted and approved by the
trustees. Brian Roblnson Accountancy Ltd has carried out a review of these accounts and has
compleled an Independent examlner's report on the accounts. The flnancial performance was In line
with the trustees, expectations and the charltable company remains In a sound flnanclal posltlon at the
year end,
The results for the year are set out in detail on pages 7 to 19. These show an overall surplus for the
year of £11,687. At 31 August 2023, the net assets of the charitable company, including property,
amounled to £632,187. The net current assets amounted to £120,013. The trustees can confirm that
the charity does not hold any ￿ndS that were materlally In deflclt at 31 August 2023,
