Since April 2025, Neillsbrook Community Development Group has been actively involved in bringing the local community together through a diverse array of inclusive and engaging initiatives. Among the standout events was an interactive programme with school children looking at the local wildlife in the area and respecting the are, which united pupils from all local cross-community schools in a celebration of creativity and togetherness.
The group was also instrumental in supporting a new mural showcasing the history of the local area as well as hosting an Ulster Scots event.
The group also spearheaded a successful estate clean-up, drawing strong support from both residents and volunteers who came together to enhance the local environment and strengthen community ties.
During the summer months, a week-long activity programme was held for children, combining fun and educational sessions that offered a safe, enjoyable way to spend the holidays.
In December, the group hosted a festive Christmas Celebration, welcoming both residents and visitors from the wider area. The event featured performances from local schools and a crosscommunity choir, reflecting the area's vibrant talent and holiday spirit.
Beyond events, Neillsbrook Community Development Group continues to hold regular meetings with the PSNI and local elected representatives, working collaboratively to tackle anti-social behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive neighbourhood for all.
