notivithstanding visitors. the main focus of our genealog!, iiork: as ￿'1th previous y'ears. was
conducted via e-mail. telephone and written reports.
With regard to our charitable w'ork in promotin? local hislory,. there ￿aS a marked emphasis
oli assisting local historical societies via our publications programine. This was couiiter-
balanced by less interaclioii with local schools w ia their local studies curriculum.

Our interest in promoting inlerest in local historv during ?023 took the forni of providiiig a
graiil to Donaghmore Hislorical SocielN' for the publicalion of 'Tlie Toi'reiil,. a jouriial
celebrating fon), N'ears of the gFroup's elisteiice aiid featuring articles on the local area's
hisloTr' and Cliltiire. Similarl). Steii"artstoii"ii and Districi LoLal Hisiory Societ! reLeived a
granl toi¥'ards the publication of 'Tlie Bell,. tlieir bi-aiinual jouriial of local studies. and an
additional grant to fund their forthcoming programme of speakers and events. We look
forward to helping a number of other groups and societies in the coming )'ear.
Financial Position
Thc trustees are pleased to report a positive financial situation for ihe year 20?3. As set out in
the l-.inance Report. income for the year ￿'aS £39,637 and eip¢nditure amounted to £24,333.
As previously. administrative outgoings have remained well-controlled. and as a result of
donations and membersliip subscriptions the compani. has maintained a positive balance for
the l'ear. The company has incurred no debts aiid there ivas no 0￿erSpend on aiiy iteins.
