To protect and preserve the physical and mental health of people who are affected by drug and alcohol misuse and to raise awareness about substance misuse and related issues for the benefit of the public in Northern Ireland (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") by associating with voluntary and statutory organisations, parents and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to promote social inclusion among people who are socially excluded, or at risk of being socially excluded, as a result of substance misuse and associated problems, and in particular, but not exclusively: (a) to provide counselling, training, education and awareness, advice, recreational facilities and activities, personal development programmes and supportive interventions to those affected by substance misuse. (b) to raise awareness among parents and the wider community on the issue of substance misuse and associated problems and work to develop programmes to address these issues.
