The PR sub committee was very activc during 2025, with plcnty of work taking place
to conlinue with tlie rebrandingy which had started at the November 2023 conference.
The focus remained on ensuring that mcmbers were oftered usetul and relcvant health
and safety infonnation and allracling new members wag also a priority. The following

out in the year. This is tm increase in the open rate trom 2024 {whi¢h had ali av¢ragc

Social media activity continued to increase during 2025 year and has assisted in

increased from 316 to 326 (this nett increase also took into account 15 members who
did not renew in 2025. '1-hese were due to one member company being taken over by

Our annual NISO I NISG All Ireland Occupational Health & Safety Awards saw
16 enlries from NISG. 3 of ihcse were new entrants, again 5howcasingF ihe inlerest our

showca%ing their hcalth and salely comTnitm¢ni. I'-our DI. the cnlranl8 achi¥vid

achievement was celebrated at our A wards Dinner following the conference in

The John Gordon ¢iafety Person of the Year Award, sponsored by Salety Advice
Centrc, rcceived a hig,h number of entries this year, somc of them submitted Irorn
organisations who have noi previously ent¢rcd. A worth}, nominee from a non-H & S
background won this year, showing that good health safety practice reniains
aLlive outside of the H &S professional who would be our main member contact
within an organisation. Our winner, Eamon LagFan, from member organisation Adman
Civil Prujecls Ltd., was surprised to be presented with his winning trophy and prize at
our Awards Dinner in November 2025.
Our Farming sub committee was very active in 2025. The year's activity began in
March with NISG supporting IISENI with other FarmingJ Affiliatcs at 'Older
Farnlers Awareness Day, al th¢ new NTIFRS Learning and Development CollegFe in
Cookstown. 'fhe 60 attendees were gsiven infonnation on various fanning risk5 and
the NISG representatiN'es presented on respiratory problems associal¢d with fanning.
The sub committee took stands at thre¢ agJricultUTal show5 during the year - Clogher
VaIlcy Show: Antrim Show and the Winter Fair and met with many fanners and their
lamilies at these events. A Colouring competition and a Spot the Hazard Competition
was held al each event foT the young atlendees, with prizcs &w£￿ded on the day.
Collaboration continued with tlie Young Farn]LTS Club. where we fielded Executive
C()mmillec member judgJes at the Young, Farmers Annual Public Speaking and
Debating, Competilion%. Our Public Relations Officer, Jimmy Fenlon, was also invited
as the guest speaker to address the attendees at the YF Public Speaking Final in
Ballymena in November. These events offer an opportunity for the work OI'NISG to
be seen by the next generation of the Northern Ireland WOTkforce.
We also continued our work as Affiliate Member5 of the Fam Safet! Partnership in
Northem Ireland, working alongyside organisations such as HSENI: DAF,tL4; UFU.
FSF. NFUM and YFCU to promote fann safety Ihrougyhout the province. Lakeland
Dairies continued as our Farniing sponsor for the 2025 year. We have continued to
spon50r the 2026 HSF.Nl Farn] Safely calendar which is distributed to piimary
schools with a rural conn¢ction.

2025 has becn another very successful year for the organisation, and wc now look

Reserves Policy
The Tru51LLS of the Lhariiy have established a policy whereby the unrestricled tunds
not committed or invested in langyible tixed as5et5 ('Ihe Iree rescrves,) held by the
charity should amount to between 2 and 6 m()nth.s' worth of the resources expended
which equates to between £18,645 and £55.935 in general tunds. At ihis level, the
TrLlStees feel that they would be ablL lo continue th¢ ¢urrent aclivities of thc charity in
the ev¢nl ol'a significant drop in t"unding,; how'ever. it would obi'iously be neces8ary
to consider how the fundingy would be rcplaccd or aitivities chan&Ted.
At present the free reserves (which exclude de5igFnaied rescrvcs), amount to £49,910

The Trustees are responsible for the preparation ot Financial Statemcnts for e￿h
linancial period which give a true and fair view of. the surplus or deticit arising in the
peri()d <ind ot. Ihe assets and liabilities of the Charity ds al the end c)I' Ihc financial
p¥riod.
The Financial Statements are to be prepared on a going concern basis unless it is
inappriipriale to assume that the Charity will Lontinue in operation for at least 12
months tollowing the period end date.
