Hill Croft PTA As a Ch￿lty, baacd in Northern Irel8j￿ and registered with the
Charity Commission for Northern Ireland ￿1ClO07401 and HM Revenue and
Customs fAR966611. The FTA was lorned to 8UPPOrt the work of Hill Croft
School. Ncwtownabbey. in the education of children and young people aged
3-19. who have severe learning ditricultie8. The management of the affairs of
the FryA are entrusted to a conunittce.
The committee met in forn￿ meeting8 every month throughout the year. and
on other Occ￿lOn8 a8 required.
The committee compri8es members elected by the member8 of the pfA. In
addition. the Principal of the school 18 an ex-offieio memb¢r of the committec.
with voting rights. The committee is vested with the full powers to conduct
the atTair8 of the FfA, and to carry out its objective8. and has the power to
rai8e funds by way of public appeals. collection8. b8Jlots. 8pecial efforts 8nd
other such means. as lawful.

provision. without charge. of the Meet￿ space ond other e8tabli8hment
facilitie8 at Hill Croft Schwl.
The PTA aims to advance the education and le8n]ing of thos¢ who attend Hill
Croft School, by providin& as well as assisting in the provision of facilities for
education at the school (not norn￿llY provided by the Education Authorityl.
In addition. the FTA encourage8 collaboration and co-operation bctween
teachers. oncillary staff. parents And others associated with the school, for
the beneflt of the pupils. and engage8 in activities which both support the
8chool, and advan(zs the eAlucatiOD of it8 pupils.

During what was another extremely difficult school year. we were still very
active supporting the school community:
In September we contributed towards class funds.
At Halloween. we provided clas8 tre8t8.
Christmas time - the FTA bought selection boxes for every young
person. teachers were given hampers, and each class got some treats.
Special need$ buggies were pu￿￿&sed.
Recently frult trees were purchased.
Eastcr treats were given to each ela88.
Contribution toward8 the Education Authority Summer Scheme.

the FfA generates an income stream to provide equipment and other
resources needed for school.

Through their own direct involvement, the members of the (x)mmittee identify
risks to which the IryA is exposed. They ensure that appropriate 8yStems and
