THE CONSTITUTION AND GOVERNING OF THE CHARITY

There has been no alteration to the Constitution for Wallace High School, Teachers and Friends Association as approved by The Charities Commission N. Ireland (23/10/14) setting out how the charity is constituted and governed, and we adhere to that absolutely.

The Charity continues to be constituted as an unincorporated association.

The Charitable aims and purposes of the charity are to advance the education of pupils in the school by:

Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school; Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

## OPERATION OF THE CHARITY

The PTA is made up of parents of the children and staff of the school who make up the Committee. All parents are encouraged to become actively involved, to assist running a calendar of events and supply the volunteer manpower which is required. As a committee we always evaluate and monitor events or initiatives which we run to ensure that they are as successful as possible and to gauge the opinion of the children and the adults to keep all actively informed. The PTA feed into the school newsletter which is circulated monthly and update the Facebook page and website with PTA information on a regular basis.

We have been extremely humbled by a very generous donation that we received this year. Their donation purchased much needed technology for the classrooms. Generations of children will benefit from such generosity.

The main achievements of the Wallace High School PTA were the following purchases:

- Purchase 6 x Promethean interactive white boards (will show in the next set of books)

- Storage Boxes for Lost property/Preloved uniform

- Branded lanyards and Tote bags

- Poster/A frame for Coffee Cabin

- Flags and Banners

- Contribution to the Bus for P2 trip

- Contribution to the P5 School trip

- Christmas Fair Hamper

- Airtastic Class trip

The trustees have read the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance and have had regard to this when running the charity.

No harm flowed from these objects. Any private benefit was incidental.

Plans for 25/26

- Hold a "ladies’ night"

- Save more clobber from landfill while raising funds for Wallace High

- Subsidise the Rocketry club’s entry to the European Rocketry Challenge competition

- Support the SEN with Learning Support equipment/technology

- Sell preloved uniform

- Support school events by providing refreshments eg. Open day, yr 8 concert, Carol service

- Continue to raise funds in order to purchase educational resources or equipment for the use of all the pupils in the school. All events such as BBQs, Craft Fairs, quizzes, pumpkin parties, film nights, shopping bus trips and dances etc are widely advertised in the community and open to parents, their friends, staff and the general public. On Saturday mornings we have a cabin at the school sports pitches and serve tea & coffee, sweets and rolls to the parents and the wider community who turn up to support the teams playing hockey & rugby. We have taken great encouragement from the people who say they look forward the hot cup of tea while

spectating. It also gives us a chance to promote the activities of the PTA and advertise other events. We actively encourage both staff and pupils to apply for funding for their projects and we have met with the student council to explain to them how to apply and the criteria they must meet to be successful. The staff on the PTA speak to other staff about the criteria for funding also.

There are no funds held by the charity that are materially in deficit. Apart the money in the bank, the charity has no other assets or liabilities.
