through which a rnllway Ilne runs. To the north 5Kle ofthe rnilway line sits an area called Soweto and
this is a recognlsed slum area. ft is an area wthich is home to atwt 40,1￿? people with little or no
access to clean water. adequate toilet facilities orto meanin8fv1 employment. Zone 6 of Soweto Is
called Kanyo808a and it is within this zone that the Trust has s• to meet Its object and to èsslst
ojerts to develop.

The Trust has contlnued to athieve the releve pmty ￿ WOVKlin8 fvnd1￿ for educatitm and
provlslon of a local clinlc wovhJw)B a limited amount of healthcare. TheTrust be8an to provide
nursery and primary a8ed thildren eduCat￿n by workire thro¥h a l(xal primary sthool called
Hopeful Hearts Children's *ademy. In 21X)9 the sthool VAS a nuffseryfxility with 20 Now the
school 130 wpils overall up to P7 Jevel.
The Trnst has cortinued to sth to ralse funds and the fvftds pro¥th have enabled to Trust to help
finan￿ some of thls schoofs recurrent Costs 50 enabllnB the school to offer Iree edUCat￿Th along
h a daily meal. In addition the Tntrt raised sixne funds to £¢y￿r Ilmlted healthcare for the
pupils and st•ff. This healthcare provlsion comprises acce55 to a doctor and limited medtin￿ ¥then
illness arise5. The illnesses suffered lry the children Inch￿e5 malaria. typhoKI and most commonty
ga5troenteriti$. Further, the Trust has also been al4e to aS95t with the c05t of teather training

promote lrnwoved mana8ement and to encourage the sthool to wor* ttrwards ful
fegi5tration within the Ugandan Educatknn system. all with the awn of makn8 the school
more self-sufficient.

the Trnst plans to ioiTr with other or8antsations to support a small local health centre, called
Amani Famity Centre. This Centre provides free maternity and chIldca￿ to this community
with an emphasis on the prevention of ill health. reduction of infart and thild mortalty.
