It has been another busy year for u3a in Northern Ireland,. The NI Regional Executive Committee (NIREC) has been a great support to all u3a groups across Northern Ireland and to me as the Trustee for NI. During the past year, as Trustee for NI, I have attended the following meetings:-

Third Age Trust Board Meetings

I also attended the AGM’s of Belfast u3a and Holywood AGM’s. The Queen’s award for volunteering at Foyle u3a The 25[th] year Anniversary Dinner at North Down and Ards u3a Since January 2023 I have been involved planning the NI u3a Summer School

The highlight of the year was welcoming Liz Thackray to Northern Ireland on 13[th] March for five day visit. Liz visiting eight u3a, and has said at the recent Board meeting “It is the best thing I have done since becoming Chair 18 months ago, and NI has set the bar for regional visits”. Needless to say to am delighted she was so impressed, and my thanks go to all the u3a’s involved ,and special thanks to Mairead McGouran for looking after Liz while visiting the u3a’s on the north coast.
