Trustees, Report
The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 December
2024. The Trustees confirnl that the financial statements of the charity comply with the
current ststutory mRnimum requirements for charities to prepare receipts and payments
accounts in accordance with the Charites Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
Financial position
As at 31 December 2024 the charity had totsl unrestricted funds of £15.921 (2023 - £15,260)
and total restricted funds of £Nil (2023 - £Nil).

Objectives
The objective of the trust is to provide financial assistance for successful applicants for their
third level music education. To assist in the provision of accommodation, tuition and the
provision of musical instruments.
Public benefits
The dir¢ct benefits of the Charities purposes are to improve th¢ musical skills of the young
and promising musicians defined as those showing from an early age the possibility of
achieving excellence in advancing their musical talents. The Charity will provide funds to
finance extra tuition, specialist training and the provision of musical instruTnents for those
who might not be able to afford such costs thernselves. Such improved skills will be
demonstrated through the educational attainment of each musician through their retrospective
disciplines and proved and evidenced by such improved skills.
Any private benefits that might arise, for example the benefit orchestras might gain from
having the improved musician in their number would be incidentsl to the carrying out of the
purposes of the Charity, but this would be offset by the wider and indirect benefit to the
community at large who would be able to share in the musicians improved skills through
public perfonnance.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE CHARITY THE
VIOLA DUCHESS OF WESTMINSTER BURSARY FUND
THE VIOLA
WESTMINSTER APPEAL FUND
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31" December 2024, which are set out
on pages 4 to 5.
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the prepardtion of the accounts in accordance
with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
It is our responsibility to:
Examine the accounts under Section 65 of the Charities Act;
Follow the procedures laid down in the general Directors given by the Commission
under Section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act"
State whether particular matters have come to my attention.
We have examined your charity accounts as required under Section 65 of the Charities Act
and our examination was catried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the
Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under Section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act.
Our examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of
any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as charity
trustees concerning any such matters.
Our role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause
to believe:
l. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with Section 63 of the Charities
2. That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records.
That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act"
4. That there is fLllther inforn]ation needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be
reached.
