a charitable benefft to community and abroad.

Achlevements and performance
As this particular Wofklng year from 1st Odobef 2021 to 30th Seplember 2022 has progressed the previous
restrfctions deemed necessary to combat the CovTrd 4xdemic have eased.
Although Covld remains an is￿. lrfe seems to be retwnlNJ to ￿t was deemed 'normal'. Actfvities that have
needed io be suspended such as Girfs Brigade and Sc¢xrts for example have rbow been resurrected. Pe(4)le ¥e

serlices by the hundreds sometimes thousands all over Ihe Bfitish Isles and all around the wodd in such places
as Canada, United Stales, Australia. different parts ofAfrica. Europe and even Central and Soulh Arnerica. Wiat
the apostle Paul says fegarding the church in 1Thessalonians 1".8 could be sald of WNtewell, "Forfnvn you the
wo￿1 or the Lolll has sounded forth..... It is an awesome wiviiege to be able to minister to the people of God In
all these places.
Ovef the months the church services have been good and people have heard the Word of God with a far
number coming to faith in Christ. There have been a number of baptismal 5erviGes wilh approximately 37
undergolng the ordinance Of'bel￿VerS baplism,. Also. approximately 72 people have been publicly received into
membershiplfelloAship.
In December three nthv elders were P￿IldY Ordained.
In Febn￿ry Ihe churth celebrated it5 65th anniversary.
In March, due to the increasing volume of work the thurth set up a D.S.T. (designated safeguarding
team) to look after matters of safegLwding children and vulnerable adults. Tris involves a team of 5. one
of whom is a servtng trustee.
In June OLY new Shepherd's Academy completed ils first yew with an academy m&21 at Ihe mtanic Hotel
tyth over 120 in attendance.
In July we hosted a mernorial Servi￿ for our late fcmjnder and Senkor Pastor James Mcconnell. This was
well attended with missior￿ne5 and many other rninisters ailenth'ng. A new book about hks mlnlstry was
also released on the nighl wiitten by John Mccreeth'e.
Also In July, V4hitewell hosted a 4 day Elim V¥bnderous Bible W. So impressed were Elim with
lacilities and slaff that they have *eady rewe5ted the same tr July 2023. ￿ are delighted to waTk
other believers.
In August we officialty ordained to the mlnlstry Pastor Lance Gvwer as mrister of out daughter church in
Newry.
In September we agan were able to host our main outreach eV￿t called Alive Belfast 2022" %*ilh
evangelist and pastor Dawd Ham. from New Y(Kk. It byds a thoroughly successful and blessed event.
We also saw aur Shepherd's Academy begin its sewnd year vrith a new influx of students
mplementing our exlsting students. ￿ are already being asked ty churches wilhout a mini5ler aboul
the possibility of students from our academy helping them and in Ihe ftrture studen15 even becoming
their new mirNsters. Thi5 is an exciting develownenL
Apart from our Sunday Sch(x)l all our youlh aGtivitie5 are again LV and running. This indudes tho
already mentioned as well as our Saturday night Well Event. for the teens and young adults. It would
seem our Sunday momirvJ ￿h￿drenS ChÉKch' has replaced the Sunday Schools. for now anyway.
So, the Word of the Lord continues to be preached and t*Jght and a few of our AGademy students are
now running our new Christians Coufse. Pastor David continues to expourMI the Scriptures each week
laking on a 16 week s￿leS Ihi5 year on 1Corinthians 13, a series on the parables of Jesus and now a
Series on the miracles of Jesus too. An interesting Bible Study series was also based on the classlc
Pilgrims prng￿$s' book by John Bunyan. This proved irnrnensely helplul to many souls.

Ethlapla & Kenya
The Churth has ft￿nded and continues to a rnwnber of fNeiw missionary projects n Ethiow'a
Kenya. These missions help relieve severe povety in the local areas ty a5SiSting in the provision of food and
dothing. The mlss¢ons also help provide reli9i(w and secdar ed￿all￿ to the children and adutts of the area
and also assists in providing medical ￿e.
The Church currenty funts three project in Ethiopia: Kwrfiu Comp)und. Babagaya sc*￿01 & Church. and An
Church. The Church also funds the Metropolitan Sanctuary ￿ Nyeri Church In Kenya.
Hundreds of lives are being tr￿￿hed in both locatlcKts as well as the woiecl empbyry (Ner 50 ￿d￿ldualS. We

Christianity to all children from different ethr* religions throuW Evangelism and the provision of ts'bliGaUy-ba$ed
teaching. and to advan￿ the education af all children and young adulis in the relief ol poverty and I￿nger.

The Metropoliuan Tabemade Church in Ethiopia Ser￿ the loGal commur&y in reach4vJ souls and whoe we
have seen God's plans Gome to fruition over the mary years.
The missionary Fxolect kn Ethiopia has weathered the CO￿ storni and is emergvu and vibrart. It
continues to be supported at home by Mrs Eleancf Mcclelland and her daughter Karen aloThJ with Pastor
Mlchael Buntlng.
Kenya
The Metrwolitan Sanctuary for Children with fxsability contbrK*d to offw services dwwNJ ts yw under Ihe
leadership of Pasior Mary Ilknaom her de(Icated team.
Dwing Y￿ the sanciuary offered rehabilitatirn fA¥ices and Org￿l$ed training for CommuiNty Health
Volunteers and for care givers in the commlnity &tting aids. standing ads. stabilisers and *theelchairs were
given lo children in need. The sJKtuary aso provided soc￿1 support through the pft)vrsion of food packages,
there were 15 famths supported wth food packages on a montNy basis. Meclical a55iStarKe. support lor
famlll8s bereaved and home vlsiis also wovthd by the sanLknry staff.

Flnanclal revlew
The Board of Trustees consider that Ihe unrestricted fijnds of the charity have sufficient resources and assets
available which ale adequate to fvlfil theif obligations.
At 30 September 2022 the balan￿ of urYestr£led reserves was £7.801.926 (2021- £7.838,318}.
It is the pollcy of the chwch that urwestricled funds wlich have Tr)t been dwnated for a 5peGtfiG use should be
maintained at a level equivalent to between al￿ nine monlh's eXpen(*tU￿. The trustees considers that
reserves at itus level wi¥ ensure that, n the event of a s19r￿ficant drop in funithng. they will be able to contiNe the
church's cwrent acbvities while thwm is g'ven to ways In additKmal funds mwi be raised. This level of
re5er¥es has been mainlained Ihroughout the year.
The trustees have assessed the major iisks b) vrtxh Ihe thLYth is exposed, are satisfied that systems are in
place to mtyate exp05we lo the malor risks.

In June Mr5 Linda Hob5￿ retired after 40 years working on the office ovuseelng ackninislration. We
thank her for the many years of ser¥ice and wish her a very hrypy retirement.
Mrs Lillian McTemaghan also retired from her voluntary post of le￿lIng our Mum's and Toddlers gro￿ vthith has
been such a blessing to many farrilies. Again, thar* Lilli￿ for ￿1 her years of faithful service and wish her an
equally happy retirement.
