Purpose of the Charity

The purpose of the Charity is to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the area and its environs without distinction of age, sex, race, political or other opinion. It will do so by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare, education and other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

To promote and educate in the Ulster Scots traditions and cultures and other indigenous cultures, and to provide social inclusion and support for Local people.

Financial year

The financial year of Ardinariff Historical & Cultural Society’s Trustees report relates to the period from the 1[st] April 2023 to 31[st] March 2024.

The Main activities

During the year 1[st] April 2023 to 31[st] March 2024 the main events were held during the summer months by Ardinariff Historical & Cultural Society. A family BBQ was held in July as well as another successful summer scheme, supported by the Ulster Scots Agency. Yoga classes for the community were also held throughout the year.

Statement of Trustees

Our Trustees strive to improve people’s quality of life, and to maintain community spirit, in order to achieve sustainability for the local community in accordance with our constitution. By offering local people to chance to have a stake in their community and take ownership of the facilities, local heritage is strengthened which, in turn, creates new opportunities in the present. We also train our volunteers in Safeguarding, Health and Safety policies.

Financial

Our treasurer reported on our financial position for the past 12 months.

The total income for the year was £5,386 and expenditure was £6,838. This left a credit balance of £2,096.72 at 31[st] March 2024.
