The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the accounts of the charity for the year
ended 31 December 2024.

Objectlves and Actlvltles
Objertives
The Dungannon Multiple Sclerosls Support Group is established to relleve sickness and distress
and to promote the benefit of, and the preservation and protection of health and well-being of
people with Multiple Sclerosis (the beneficiaries) in the Dungannon area. The dlrect beneflts which
flow from thls purpose Include the reductlon of stress and anxiety among people with Multiple
Sclerosis, their carers, helpers and friends In the Dungannon area and increased protection and
preservatlon of their health. Organlslng computer classes, exercise classes, and therapeutic
services helps the members wlth Multlple Sclerosls, thelr carers, helpers and friends to reduce
stress and anxiety and help them to be more actlve In their daily lives. The computer classes help
create new skills and enable the members to learn a range of tasks such as shopping and banklng
onllne. This enables the people wlth Multlple Sclerosls to be more independent and not having to
rely on other people to do their shopping and banklng. It also enables the members with Multiple
Sclerosis to communlcate with family and friends online. There Is no harm flowing from the
purposes. The benefits outlined can be demonstrated through feedback from the users of the
service. There are no prlvate benefits flowlng from the purposes.
Actlvltles
The Dungannon Multlple Sclerosis Support Group helps and encourages people wlth Multlple
Sclerosis, their carers, helpers and frlends by organlslng outlngs, events, meals etc. The group
fosters an atmosphere of mutual support and encouragement among the beneficiaries and thelr
relatives, helpers, carers and friends. The Dungannon Multlple Scleros5s Support Group raises
money through flag days, raffles and through donations. The group have an annual summer
outing and Chrlstmas meal and organise computer classes, exerclse classes and therapeutlc
services for members with Multiple Sclerosis, thelr carers, helpers and friends.
Public Benefit statement
The Trustees of Dungannon Multlple Sclerosis Support Group conflrm that they have complied
with their duty under section 4(6) of the Charltles Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 to have regard to
the Charity Commlsslon for Northern Ireland's guidance on publlc benefit and that the public
benefit requirement has informed the actlvltles of the charlty in the year ended 31 December
2024.
Achievements and Performance
The Trustees have established the charity as a progressive enterprise to relleve sickness and
dlstress and to promote the benefit of, and the presernation and protection of health and well-
being of people with Multiple Sclerosls.
Financial Revlew
Flnancial Performance
The financial performance was in line wlth the Trustees expectatlons. The charity remalns In a
sound financial position at the year end. The results for the year are set out in detail on page 6 of
the accounts.

Structure, Governance and Management
Organisational Structure
Dungannon Multiple Sclerosis Support Group Is a charlty administered and managed in
accordance with its constitution, by the members of the Management Committee, constituted by
clause 5 of the constitution. The constitution was formally adopted on 9 October 2014 by the
members at the Annual General Meeting.
In accordance with the constitutlon, committee members may hold office for a period of up to 3
years and shall retire in rotation with the longest serving one third to retlre at each Annual
General Meetlng. If it is not posslble to determine that, then the thlrd to retlre shall be
determined by drawlng lots. On retirement, members will be eligible for re-nomlnatlon and
election.
Trustees. Responslbllltles Statement
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the accounts In
accordance wlth applicable law.
The trustees are responsible for keeplng proper accounting ￿CordS that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the
accounts comply with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and the Charities (Accounts and
Reports) Regulatlons (Northern Ireland) 2015. They are also responsible for safeguarding the
assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detectlon of
fraud and other irregularities.

Multiple Sclerosis Support Group for the year ended 31 December 2024
We report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024 whlch are set out
on page 6 and 7.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Independent Examiner
As the charity's Trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
with the requirements of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. It is our responsibility to:
examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission
for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008;
and
state whether partlcular matters have come to our attentlon.
Bas1$ of Independent Examlner's Report
We have examined your charlty's accounts as requlred under section 65 of the Charltles Act
(Northern Ireland) 2008 and our examination was carrled out in accordance wlth the general
directions glven by the Charity Commlssion for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the
Charltles Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. The examinatlon Included a review of the accounting
records kept by the charlty and a comparison of the accounts presented wlth those records. It
also Includes consideration of any unusual items or dlsclosures In the accounts, and seeklng
explanatlons from you as charlty Trustees concerning any such matters.
Our role is to state whether any materlal matters have come to our attention giving us cause to
belleve:
That accountlng records were not kept in accordance wlth sectlon 63 of the Charities Act
(Northern Ireland) 2008; or
That the accounts do not accord wlth those accounting records. or
That the accounts do not comply with the accountlng requlrements of the Charitles Act
(Northern Ireland) 2008. or
That there is further Information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be
reached.
