The Trustees, have pleasure in presenting their report and the accounts of the charity for the year
ended 31 December 2023.

Objectives and Activities
Objertives
The Dungannon Multiple Sclerosis Support Group is established to relieve sickness and distress
and to promote the benefit of, and the preservation and protection of health and well-being of
people with Multiple 5clerosis (the beneficiaries) in the Dungannon area. The direct benefits which
rivvv fioin this purpose include the ￿ductIon of stress and anxiety among pcoplc with Multiple
Sclerosis, their carers, helpers and friends in the Dungannon area and increased protection and
preservation of their health. Organising computer classes, exercise classes, and therapeutic
services helps the members with Multiple Sclerosis, their carers, helpers and friends to reduce
stress and anxiety and help them to be more active in their daily lives. The computer classes help
create nevv skills dllLI eiiable the members to learn a range of task5 such as shopping and banking
online. This enables the people with Multiple Sclerosis to be more independent and not having to
rely on other people to do their shopping and banking. It also enables the members with Multiple
Sclerosis to communicate with family and friends online. There is no harm flowing from the
purposes. The benefits outlined can be demonstrated through feedback from the users of the
service. There are no private benefits flowing from the pU￿OSe$.
Activities
The Dungannon Multiple Sclerosis Support Gmup helps and encourages people with Multiple
Sclerosis, their carers, helpers and friends by organising outings, events, meals etc. The group
fosters an atmosphere of mutual support and encouragement among the beneficiarie5 and their
relatives, helpers, carers and friends. The Dungannon Multiple Sclerosis Support Group raises
money through flag days, raffles and through donations. The group have an annual summer
outing and Christmas meal and organise computer classes, exercise classes and therapeutic
services for members with Multiple Sclerosis, their carer5, helpers and friends.
Public Benefit statement
The Trustees of Dungannon Multiple Sclerosis Support Group confirm that they have complied
with their duty under sertion 4(6) of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 to have regard to
the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit and that the public
benetit requirement has informed the acrivllles of the charity in the yei1r eiid¢d 31 December
2023.
Achievements and Performance
The Trustees have established the charity as a progressive enterprise to relieve sickness and
distress and to promote the benefit of, and the preservation and protection of health and well-
being of people with Multiple Sclerosis.
Financial Review
Financial Performance
The financial performance was in line with the Tnjstees expectations. The charity remains in a
sound financial position at the year end. The results for the year are set out in detail on page 6 of
the accounts.

structure. Governance and Management
Organisational Structure
Dungannon Multiple Sclerosis Support Group is a charity administered and managed in
accordance with its constitution, by the members of the Management Committee, constituted by
clause 5 of the constitution. The constitution was formally adopted on 9 October 2014 by the
members at the Annual General Meeting.
In accordance with the constitution, committee members may hold office for a period of up to 3
years and shall retire in rotation with the longest serving one third to retire at each Annual
General Meeting. If it is not possible to determine that, then the third to retire shall be
determined by drawing lots. On retirement, members will be eligible for re-nomination and
election.
Trustees. Responsibilities Statement
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Annual Report and the accounts in
accordance with applicable law.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the
accounts comply with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 and the Charities (Accounts and
Reports) Regulation5 (Northem Ireland) 2015. They are also responsible for safeguarding the
assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of
fraud and other irregularities.
