Dungannon Youth for Christ is a company lin]ited by guarantee and does not hav¢ a share capital. The

status was achieved on 6 July 2015 with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland in addition to
charitable status previously held with HM Revenuc and Cu8toms.
Structurfy governance and management
Th¢ compauy is constitutcd and gov¢rncd undcr a Manorandum of A&80ciation &8 well as gelleral
employment and other legislation applicable to Northern Ireland. The board of trust¢&s supervises and
control the financ&s and are also r￿onSIbl¢ for th¢ day to day functioning of the charity and the repair
and maintenance of its. faGilities.

Objectives and activities
DungaA)non Youth for Christ was forn￿1 in 1996 with the aim of engaging rnarginalis¢d young people in
th¢ local commuDity. Since then, th¢ charity has W0￿¢d to meel the needs of local young p￿>ple through
various pmgran]mes held at the drop-in centre, in local schools alld in the conllnunity. The inission
statement of tk charity r¢flwts the holistic approach (o the work as thc charity aitns to: "enable the
young pwple of Dl￿an￿On to experienc4 share and b¢ trnnsfOrnl￿ by the love of God, reaching thciT
full potential" physic4lly, emolionally> ducationally and spiritually." Through its work, the charity airns
to ¢ngag¢ young pwplc in ￿ery ar¢a of lif¢ in which th¢y ne£d support and help, in onler to see them
reach their full potential.
The charity also aims to dcvclop atld ￿￿Intain l(Kal partn￿ShIps, including local church&8, to see the lives

Public benefit
Public benefit is achieved through giving young people the Op￿rtunIty to develop and grow in a p¢rsonal
faith in Jesus Christ ￿ they attend the drop kn centre. cvents or mcetings. The b¢n¢fits are evidenced by
feedback froni the young pwpl¢, changes in lif¢style and increased participation in local churchGS. The
charity's beneficiaries are the cbildrn and young people of the wider Dungannon area.
The iruste&s confinn that thcy have had du¢ regard to guida￿¢ Produc￿ by the ch￿ltY Conllnission and
that the charity continues to med the public benefit requirement. The trustees have read scctions 32, 33
and 34 of the CIMrities (Accounts and Reports) R¢gulatioDs 2015 and confirn] the charity tThstees hav¢
compli¢d with thc duty to hav¢ rcganl to the guidance issued by the Commission under section 4(b)' {th¢
public benefit requirement statuiory guidance) to ensure tbat tb¢ activiti¢s hav¢ helped to achieve the
clwity's purposes and provide a b¢n¢fit to th¢ bcneficiaries.
Achievements and performance
During 2022-23 the Boanl and volunteers at Dungdnnon Youth for Christ have Contimi￿ to weekly
drop-in sessions for up to 20 young people. Activities included table tenJ)i4 pool, computer gamcs, board
games, crafts, sports and a wide variety of games in addition to a Bibl¢ ¢pilogue ¢ach evening. This year
wc hav¢ focused on sev¢ral topics including: If you could ask God one questio￿ what would it bc?
Encounters wtth Jesus and Mirdcles of Jesus. Special activity nigbts were a hit, ¢sp¢cially when th¢y
involvd food- ¢.g. Pancak¢ Party and a Bake•off nigbt.
In June the DYFC young people joined with a local youth group for a camp out at Light and Life
Christian Cetfft. This was a wonderful time of fun and games, food and fellowship with a great teaching
and praise session as a highlight of the Saturday evening. Every young person received a 8th bag at the
¢nd with a New Testament. some Biblc rcading notc5 and 80rnC tasty trcats.
The recruitment of a fi￿-time worker was also a k¢y focus during the year and DungaJ]llon Youth for
Christ is pl¢as¢d to hav¢ appointed a Youth Development IKad to fi￿er develop the Drop In ministy
and restart our schools and outreach work. We are grateful to God for His provision. W¢ pray that DITC
will continue to reach more young peopl¢, d￿Clop new activities and prograrn￿¢s, inorease its impact
and glorify God in Dungannon and further afi¢ld.

Financial revieTrv
Results
The charity recorded a surplus of £7,632 (2022: sU￿lUS £1,099) for the financial year. As th¢ charity is a
not-for-profit Organisatio￿ any Surplus wlll be re-invested in the ongoing work of th¢ charity. There are
no llmtcrial uncertaintics impacting the clMrity's ability to cOntill￿ as a going Concern.
Reserves polley
The charity's policy is to retain a level of general reserv&8 which matches its neeth at th¢ current time and
in the foreseeable fitture.
The general reserves of the cbarity at 31 March 2023 were £27,835 (2022.. £22,203) and r¢pre8ent
unr&8tricted funds which are available for general use.
Taxation ststus

to certain tax exemptions on income and profits from investments and surplus&8 on any trading activities
