Trustees’ Report

The trustees present the annual report and statement of Receipts and Payments and Assets and Liabilities for Parents and Friends of Rosstulla School for the year ended 30 June 2024.

Objects of the Charity

The charitable purpose of Parents and Friends of Rosstulla School is to support the pupils of Rosstulla School through fundraising, the provision of resources, support for school activities and enhancement of the educational and social experience of children attending the school.

Activities of the Charity

During the year the Association undertook a range of fundraising and community activities, including a quiz night, Easter Coins fundraising, summer fundraising, Easyfundraising income and charitable donations from supporters.

Achievements, Performance and Public Benefit

During the year the Association continued fundraising and support activities for the benefit of pupils attending Rosstulla School.

Expenditure during the year included iPads and pupil resources, residential trip support, pupil activities, fundraising supplies, Parentkind membership and bank charges.

The activities undertaken during the year were intended to enhance pupils’ educational, social and wellbeing experiences and to support additional opportunities for children attending Rosstulla School.

The trustees believe these activities provided clear public benefit by supporting pupils through the provision of additional resources, activities and opportunities that enhanced their school experience and wellbeing.

Financial Review

The principal source of income during the year was fundraising activity, donations and Easyfundraising income.

Total receipts for the year amounted to £4,336.75, with total payments of £7,948.14, resulting in a closing balance of £6,083.00 as at 30 June 2024.

The principal expenditure of Parents and Friends of Rosstulla School was in respect of pupil resources and school support, including iPads and educational resources, residential trip support, pupil activities and general running costs.

Parents and Friends of Rosstulla School had an excess of payments over receipts of £3,611.39 for the year ended 30 June 2024.

Structure, Governance and Management

Parents and Friends of Rosstulla School is managed by a committee of trustees responsible for the governance and administration of the Association.

During the year the Association adopted the Parentkind Northern Ireland model constitution in October 2023 to formalise governance arrangements and support the continued development of the charity.

The accounts for the year ended 30 June 2024 have been independently reviewed by Jeremy Adams, who is independent of the committee.

Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and the statement of Receipts and Payments in accordance with applicable charity requirements.

The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records sufficient to show and explain the Association’s transactions and disclose, with reasonable accuracy, the financial position of the charity. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of

the charity and taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
