INCOME & EXPENDITURE - 1ST APRIL 2024 - 31ST MARCH 2025

UPPER BANN U3A

NOTES TO U3A ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31ST MARCH 2025

NOTE 1 The accounts for the year March 2025 have been prepared using the Income and Expenditure Accounting reporting system as required by the Charities Commission Northern Ireland. No adjustments have been made for prepayments or accruals. The Beacon system is used to record all income and expenditure.

NOTE 2 The Bank Balance as at 31 March 2025 was £5,635.25 which included new member payments in March (£527.28) and membership renewals for 2025/2026 (£2,728.00). Adjusting the bank balance for these two amounts gives an underlying balance of £2,379.97 (£5635.25 - £3,255.28)

NOTE 3 The Beacon system was reconciled to the bank balance as follows — Balance per Beacon £2,907.25 add membership renewals not on Beacon £2,728.00 at 31 March 2025 giving £5,635.25.

NOTE 4 We received two £1,000 Take 5 grants in May 2024 for The Monday Walking Group and Knit ‘n’ Natter Group. Further grants were received to fund The Open Day. £500 from Third Age Trust and £500 from ABC Council.

NOTE 5 A number of new U3A activities started during the year and we were able to hold our annual BBQ in July and our Christmas Lunch at the end of November. As always it was good to meet up and socialise.

NOTE 6 The committee met regularly during the year. It reviewed the membership subscriptions for the year and decided to increase it to £20 for 2025/2026.

NOTE7 In line with U3A policy, Activity Funds exceeding £150 are given to the treasurer and lodged in the bank account. All such funds are held as Restricted and can be accessed by the relevant group at a future date if required.

The current balances at the year-end are detailed below.
