Annual Reportforthe year ended 30 June 2023
The trustees of Friends of Ashfield Girls, High School are pleased to submit their report and accounts for
the period l July 2022 to 30 June 2023.
Achievements and Performance
Easter Fair held in March 2023 raising £471;
Easy Fundraising and Amazon online was ableto raise additional income;
Donation from a local company- Cts, for school Dignity scheme at £2083.
Friends of Ashfield Girls, High School were accepted as a registered charity on the I" September 2014.
Meeting Programme
The groups programme is to meet monthly and this contributes to the successful raising of funds. We
have been meeting on either Tuesday5 or Wednesday evening5 to hopefully be accessible to as many
parents as possible.
During these evenings, we discuss planned events and gather further ideas for future activities or needs
for help within the school.
Our aim and purpose for our group is to raise funds.
The Friends of Ashfield team help at the schools, open nights and the year 8 induction afternoon. So, no
matter how small the contribution seems, it is needed and greatly appreciated.
We have had difficulty in arranging meeting post-covid period and this has impacted on the activities we
have been able to arrange from 2021 to date. Sadly, cancelling Christmas Fairs in 2022 and 2023 and
the annual Year 8 event in June.
Membership
Membership has been falling and the team remains small, with around 718 members attending on
meeting nights. Yet, we continue to strive to grow the number of members and the purpose remains as
the advancement of education to all girls in the school.
We have previously had very successful Christmas and Easter Fairfs held in the school, not onty raising
funds for ourselves but bringing many visitors into the school to see a variety of gift ideas, arts and
crafts.
We are thankful to the teacher representatives on the committee.
Finandal Review

th
Financial performance in the year to 30 June 2023 has been consistent with expectations of members.
The year ended with a general and sole fund balance of £752, compared to £320 for the same period
last year.
Income
Income receipts for the year totaled £2655, including monies raised from the Easter Fair. It was also a
boost to receive £100 from Easy Fundraising / Amazon. The donation from CTS was very welcome at
£2083, which was completely out of the blue, and very generous.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind our members and supporters how easy it is to support
our work when shopping on-line- from high street name5 to specialist shops- available on
EasyFundraising or Amazon; and the best bit is your shopping doesn't cost you a penny more!
Expenditure
Expenditure for the year totaled £2223, including the donation to the school for the Dignity scheme of
£2083. this is down on previous periods as we haven't had the likes of quiz nights to generate more
income to then donate to the school.
It is important to note that all fund5 raised, goes back to the school, with the purchasing of additional
equipment or donations. There are small costs for insurance1£140 annual cover for PTAI.
