A￿OUntIng policles
The principal accounting policies are summarlsed klow. The accounting poIicies have been
appIied corLSiStently throughout the period and in the preceding year.
1.1 Basis of accountlns
The financial statements have been prepared under the historic cost convention and in
accordance with the FRS 101 the Statement of Recomrnended Practice
Accounting and
Reporting by Charxties {￿RP 2005) issued in March 2(M)5 (rev￿ May 2008) and the Cornpanies
Act 2006.
1.2 Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activitie5 when the charity is
entilled to the income and the amount can be quanlified with reasonable accuracy. The following
specific policies are applied to particular categorie5 of income:
Voluntary tncome is received by way of grants. donatiorLS and gifts and is included in full in the
statement of financial activities when receivable. Grants where entidement is not conditional on
the delivery of a SFecific perfornwnce by the charity, are reco8nised when the charity becomes
unconditionally entitled to the granL
Donated services and facilitie5 are included at the value to the charity where this can be
quantified. The value OE service5 provided by volunteers has not been included.
rfts donated for resale are included as incoming resources within acttvities for generating fund5
when they are sold.
Grants, including grants for the purchase of fixed asseLs, are recognied in full in the statement of
financial activities in the year in which they are receivable.
Income from investments is included in the year in which is it receivable.
1.3 Resources expended
Expenditure i5 recOgn￿ed on an accruaLs basis when a Ixabiiity is incurred. Which Cannot be
fully recovered, and is reported as part of the cxpenditLtre to which it relates.
Charitsble expenditUTe comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its
activities and services for its ￿nefIciarIes. It includes both costs that can be allocated dirertiy to
such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.
Governance costs include those incurred in the governance of the charity and its assets and are
primarily associated with constitutional and slatutory Tequirements.

1.4 Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangtble fixed assets are stated at cost less actumulated depreciation. Cost include5 all costs that
are directly attributable to bringing the asset into working condition for its intended use.
