soclal development of pre-school children - particularly those vA)o are disadvantsged - to ensure they are ready

Coleralne Sure Slart Parlnershlp Is one of thlrty elght Sure Starts operating In Northem Ireland, funded by th8
Department of Educatlon, lo meet Ihe needs of chlldren and famllles In thelr earfy years. All Sure Starts have a
number of core alms. however each works In an autonomous way to respond to the lo(*l neads of the

Sure Start supports famllles Ilvlng In the top 25% designated area$ of deprivatlon. Coleralne Sure Stsrt Supports
famllies antenatally and wlth ¢hlldren up to the age of lour, in the waids of Ballysally. Cross Glebe. Central,
Churchland and Royal Portru¥h a$ well as the houslng estates of Wndy Hall and Mlllbum.
The main services delivered by sure Start are:
-Good quality play, leaming and Ch￿d¢are experfences for thlldren (both group and home based)
-Speerh language and communieation support
-Primary and communty health care and advlce
-support lor all chlldren In thè cornmunlty recognlslng their diffèrent needs
-Famlly support Includlng befrfendlng. soclal support and parenting Infonnatlon, both group and home based
-outreach and home vlslllng s8rvlce5, to make contact as early as posslble In a chlld's Ilfa and draw famllies Into
uslng other seNl¢es.
At the core of Coleraine Sure Stsrt Partnershlp is a collaborative approach and a number of organlsalions work
together to ensure that needs are met In ihe local communlty. These Indude Causeway and Mid-ulster Women's
Ald, Focus on Famlly, Harpurfs Hill Chlldren and Famlly Centre, Libraries Nl, Northem Health and Social Care
Twst, West Bann Development and local early years settings such as Ballysally Nursery, Culr81th Comer Nurs8ry
and Kylemore Nursery.

There were no concems regarding the 2023-24 business plan targets and achievements. with m05t targets belng
met and If not, this was due to legitÉmate reasons e.g. staff vacancies or sickn8SS.

catchment area and ￿thIn our three Sure Stsrt aims. This Includes a focus on antenatal and poslnalal sari1￿$
such as Baby Massage. 88by Yoga. and Incredlble Babies. We deliver a wlde rdnge of play sesslons across
Coleraine, Portrush and Portslewart. bolh in communlty venues and In famllles, homès. Groups to support
parents Includ8 th8 Br8asffe8dlng Support Group and the Women's Group. We also offer a range of fasnlly
SUPPOrt services to parents and those affected by domesti¢ violen¢e.
We also offer a number of parenllng programmes such as the Famlly Llnks Parentlng Programme. Solihull and
Incredible Years School Readlness. For all our seNlces we Ixry out a number of evaluatlon mèthods whlch help
us measure the impact of our work on parents and chlldren, and thls Indudes verbal feedback, ca88 8ludle8 and
pre and post scoring.
Flnanclal revlow
The results for Ihe year are set oul on page 10. The company retumed net Inwme for th8 year of £3.008 {2023
£700). At 31st March 2024 the total funds of the charity amounted to £47,899 (2023 £44.89D) comprising
restrtcted Income tJnds of £47,899 {2023 £42,127) and unrestricted deslgnated funds of £0 (2023 £2,763).
Taxatlon
The company is a charlty (Chaflty No. NIC100572) and ig recognised a$ suth by HM Revenue and Customs lor
laxation purposes. As a result Ihere Is no Ilablllty to taxatlon on any of Its Income.

Each year the Departmenl of Education whlch provldes our fundlng expects the organlsatlon to Spend our fvll
