ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Chairperson's Report
A tentative return to normal service at the begiiining of 2022 meaiit tliat Our Victiins and Survivors
Programm¢ (VSP) slowly reaclied full capacity as we closed in 011 our third quai'ter. We were then able to
plan our activities for tlie comiiig year witli a little more confidence which was in complete contrast to the
previous two years of COVID.
It has been a busy pei'iod foi. therapeutic sei'vices with our CT teain delivei'iiig over 500 hoiirs of
compleinentary tlierapies and a weekly timetable of talking tliei'apies steady and coiisistent LIP to yeai. end.
Our social support programine provides opportunity for iisers to engage with one another helping to rediice
isolation for niany, Classes this terin include yoga, painting, bodliran Inakiiig, wood turning and bog oak
carving as well as two separate genealogy workshops aiid jewellery inaking classes.
Two daytrips took place this year one to Derry and Gleiiveagh National Park stopping of for dinncr on return
leg and another fun day out at ali Eden Poltery Class iii Millisle. In addition to the fLiiided activity three
voluiileer led projects coiitiniie to evolve and go froin streiigth to strength. We were botli excited aiid
delighted as oui. candlelight reineinbrance evening returned as a 'live' event this year, As ever ihe eveniiig
was very well atteiided and well rec¢iv¢d witli usei's comnientiiig on 'how iinportant the event is, and 'lt's a
great cveiiing for everyoiie to coine together in acknowledgeinent,.
We liave beeii siiccessfiil this year with a grant application made to the National Lottery Coinmiinity Fiind
(People and Coinmunities). We were absoliit¢ly d¢lighted to receive the flind ing wliicli Ineant tliat we could
carry out iiiiportant renovations to.tlie roof wliicli Iiad fallen iiito disrepaii., the fiindiiig also ineant that we
coiild iiistall solar panels. Tlie 14alifax Foundation Nl also helped lis grcatly this year by fuiiding the aniiual
cost of oiir cleai)ing servic¢ aiid a niandatoi'y clcctric iiispcctioi). Wc would like to exteiid a siiicere tliaiik

Rcserves Policy
The cliarity's pol icy is to retaiii a level of free reserves, which matclies the needs of the oi'ganisation botli at
the current time and in the foreseeable future. Tlie cliarity has developed a plan to establisli aiid niainlaiii this
agreed lev¢] of free resei'ves. The charily will coiitiiiue to iiionitoi. coinpliance with tliis pol icy oli a reglilar
basis and the Board will review the appropriateiiess of tlie policy aiiiiually.

As we entei. the filial stages of a oiie-yeai. exteiision to the Victiins and Siirvivors Prograinme we are
pi'epariiig ourselves for anotliei roll on, which will take us up to Mai'ch 3 1st 2024. It is envisaged that a
funding call for longer term pi'ograinmes coiild well be oii the table close to the end of 2023 and if successful
it would provide us with some stability for loiiger teriii planniiig. Howevei., in tli¢ absence of a fully
fuiictioning Executive aiid tlie delay with the iiew victiin's strategy Inakes it difficult to plan aiiyth ing beyond
this curi'ent fuiiding period. We continiie to work collaboi'atively with all oui, social i)artners iii helping to

siirvivoi's in oiii. cominiinity. The recent launcli of the Perinaneiit Disabled Payinent Scheme (PDPS) and tlie
UK govei-nineiits Legacy and Reconciliation Bill have raised maiiy qiiestions amongst victims aiid survivors
aiid orgaiiisations representing theii. needs. Tliere are considerable challeiiges in regard to 'dealiiig with the
past, aiid tlic abseiice of any 'accouiitability' in the UK L&R Bill 2022 is deeply concerniiig. We also
