that during the y¢ar ihc charity has continued to provide public b¢n¢fits through the holding of as5¢1s by
th¢ Gharity for the benefit of the Evangelical Pre$b￿cr1aft Church. the furthering of Christian objective3
to spread an evan8elical m¢ssa8e in particular ihrough the acce5S to iheological resources and
dissemination of c1￿1stIan literature to Church's ministers, teachets leaders. congresaiions and th¢
public in generdl and Ih¢provisi¢)noffacilities for meetings and we refcrto th¢ 8uidance when reviewing
our aims and objectives and in plannin8 our fviurc activilies.

Indirect benefils do a¢crue to the public al large, namely the improvem¢nts enjoyed in their r¢ligious
knowled8e and education, bui this is an incidental oulworkin8 of the Bookshop's dissemination or
Chrisiian lilerature. All members of the public are target b¢neficiaries of ihe Church and so this is of
broad assi8lanc¢ to it.
The beneficiary of our organisation is the Evan8eli¢al Presb￿erian Church. The pr¢mis¢s al Number15
College Square EA$t Belfast are held by us for the benefil of the Evangelical Prubyterian Church and
all the receipts profils and income from the said pr¢mises aftu payment of all necessary outgoings.

The bookshop is a charitable tThlSt constituted under a Irust deed dated 26 Oc¢okr 1982. which is
r¢eA)gnised as a charity by HM Revenue and Customs (refer¢n¢e numb¢r XN 46617). The charity was
registered wilh The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland on 291h August 2014, under referenrx NIC
100560.

The present irustees have been involveAI in the charity for a number of years and so are familiar with lis
work. The trustees regularly review the requirements of ihc charity and the possibility of a need for
addilional trustees. Any new tNst¢es would be appointed by resolution of a me¢ting of all the trustces
passed by a majority of ihos¢ presenl. Appropriate Iraining and induction is available to all trustees.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Total in¢om¢ for the year was £334,889 {2023 - £3￿,171). Income derived from charilable activities
amounled to £312,068 (2023 - £275,909). other incomc totalled £2,000 <2023 £1,667): donalions
totalled £20,650 {2023 - £22,584) invesiment income tOlall¢d £1 71 (2023 - £11).
Total expenditure for the year amounied 10 £330,009 (2023 - £289,017). The cost of eharitable 8¢tivities
amounted to £326,009 (2023 - £286.967) and Boverna￿e eosls amount¢d10 £4,(W (2023 - £2,050).

It 18 the policy of the charity to maintaln free reserves which maich&8 the needs of the or8anisation, both
at the cunent lime and in ihe foreseeable future. This provides sufficient funds to Cover nuu]ing cosis
which irtclude managemeni, administration and support costs. Free reserves ar¢ those unrestricted
reserv¢5 not designated nor invested in fixd assets which are available for general us¢.

STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILTIES OF THE TRUSTEES
Th¢ Board of Truslees are ra8pon8ible for preparin8 the financial slalemenls in accordan¢¢ with
applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Slandar& (United Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice).
Th¢ law applicable lo charities in Northern Ireland requires ihe INste￿ lo prepar¢ financial slatements
for each financial year which give a tNe and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of th¢
incomin8 resources and applicalion of r¢sour¢¢s of the charity for that period.
