| Report of the Trustees of the Rotary Club of Lisburn Trust Fund (The Trevor Guy | Memorial Bursary) Report of the Trustees for the year ended 30 June 2025 The Trustees are pleased to present their report and financial statements for the year ended 30 June ) 2025. The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. Our purposes The purposes of the charity are to hold and apply the Rotary Club of Lisburm Trust Fund and all other monies which may from time to time be received by the Trustees, for the relief of the poor and needy orsuch other charitable purposes as the Club shall direct. The Club launched an annual bursary in 2004 (now known as The Trevor Guy Memorial Bursary) to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Club, using the income of the Trust Fund. The bursaries so awarded had for many years been used to provide financial assistance to young people between the ages of 18 and 30 years from Northern Ireland to help broaden their education and experience and to enable them to help disadvantaged communities at home and/or overseas. Past, Present and Future .
In past years, several bursaries were normally made available to young people each year, with the top award being £500, with the balance of funds available going to other candidates who had put forward projects deemed sufficiently worthy of support. Many of those helped in this way were either taking time out before university or were undertaking placements as part of a medical or other degree.

Foltawing a review of the Bursary, post-Covid, it was recognised that there was significant need to provide additional support for young people in vocational education/training. In 2024-25 Club members developed a major project entitled “Generation Chef’, in conjunction with Belfast Metropolitan College, designed to support young people training for the hospitality industry.
:
The project operates on a Northern Ireland-wide basis, and involves the hospitality industry, 6 regional culinary schools and a number of other Rotary clubs. On the recommendation of the Trustees, the Club paused the Bursary in 2023-24 and agreed to use existing and future income to support the Generation Chef competition which took place for the first time during 2024-25.
.
In 2024-25, Generation Chef involved the culinary schools, six Ni Rotary Clubs and a number of sponsors from within the hospitality industry. The competition was a resounding success and further developments are planned in 2025-26.

The Trustees plan to continue to use the funds available from the Bursary to support the Generation
Chef competition going forward.
The Trustees believe that this project meets the Purposes and Public Benefit of the Charity.
