' Report of the Trustees of the Rotary Club of Llsburn Trust Fund (The Trevor Guy Memorlal Bursary) Report of the Trustees for the year ended 30 June 2024 The Trustses are pleas8d to present tsir report and financial statements for the year endad 30 June 2024. The financial st8tements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. Our purposes The purposes of charity are to hold and apply the Rotary Club of Lisbum Trust Fund * au other monies which may from tirne to time be received by the Trustees, for the relief of the poor and needy or such other charitable purposes as the Club shall direct. The Club launched an annual bursary in 2004 (now known as The Trevor Guy Memorbal Bursary) to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Club, using the income of the Trust Fund. The bursaries so awarded have for many years been used to provide financial assistance to young people be￿een the ages of 18 and 30 years from Northem Ireland to help broaden their education and experience and to enable them to help disadvantaged communities at home andlor overseas. Past and Futur• In the past, several burp•aries We￿ normally made available each year, the successful candidate usually being awarded £500, with the balance of funds available going to other candidates who had put forward projects deemed sufficiently worthy of support. Many of those helped in this way were either taking time out before university or were undertaking placements as part of a medical degree. Following a review of the Bursary, it was recognised Ihat there was signrficant need to provide additional support for young people in vocational training. Club members have developed a major project in conjunction with Belfast Metropolitan College and this is designed to support young people training for the hospitslity industry. The project is on a Northern Ireland-wide basis, and involves the hospitality industy, culinary schools and other Rotary clubs. On the recommendation of the Trustees, the Club decided to pause the Bursary in 2023-24 and to use those resources and future income to support the Generation Chef competition which takes place for the first time during 2024-25 and is expected to continue for a number of years into the future. The Trustees believe that this project will meet the Purposes and Public Benefit of the Charity. Signed 6 December 2024 Reference and Administrative Details: Charty number..
