IFRS 1021 in preparing the annual report and financial statements of the charity. Structure, governance, and management Constitutlon The company is registered as a charitable company limited by guarantee and was set up by a Memorandum of Association on 11 March 2011. 11 is registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under charity number NIC 100538. The company is a private limited company by guarantee wlhout share capital use of 'Limiled' exemption. The ChilY is also known as SEFF. Purposes of the Charlty The main purposes are: To represenl and lobby on behalf of the innOnI victims and survivors of terrorism in effecting positive change for such individuals around the areas of Truth, Justice, Acknowledgement, and overall Service provision. To develop se[viS and programmes which improve the physical and mental health and wellbeing of the innocent victims and survivors of terrorism. To develop Transgenerationavyoulh services which seek lo educate S¢xiely as lo the on-going legacy of 40 plus yeaTS of terrorism. To improve the financial circumslances of innocent victims and survivofs of lerrorism through tailored welfare services and skills-based Pfcgrammes. To develop strategic partnerships with communilylvolunlarylslalulory seclor-based organisalions for the purp)se of ensuring quality and sustainable services are provided for the innocent victims and survivors of terrorism. To offei services in an accessible, |¢xalised manner which will enable the individual needs of innceent victims and survivors of lerrorism lo be best mel. To provide opportunities for Volunteers lo develop their skills, so enabling them to be an intrinsic part of the overall service tselivery model within SEFF To empower those whom we supp)rt lo make the transition from 'Viclim' lo 'Survivor' as part of an overall process of individual healing and recovery. To strengthen the ganISation,S lies within the broader community lo develop andlor participate in initiatives which help deliver a Shared Future. Organisational Structure and Declslon Making The governan of the chaiilable company is the responsibility of the Directors who are elected and cfyopled under the terms of the AJtides of Ass¢xiation. SEFF offers a wde range of services and programmes which strive lo advance the Educalion-based opportunities ol beneficiaries. Such services include offering educational and recreational based couises and classes, Research and Development, the eslablishmenl of Border Trails, our 'Troubles Educational Resource pack, for Schools elc. SEFF also engages with local Schools through a range of good relations and culturally based programmes as well as Cilizenshipbased activities and initiatives. The advancement of health ¢y the saving of lives. SEFF seeks lo advance the Mental Health and emotional wellbeing of ils, beneficiaries wa offering services such as Counselling, Peer lo Peer Support, Telephone calling services, Befriending, Stress Management, Active and Healthy living Programmes, provision of a support service involving outreach health and wellbeing caseworkers and other advice seminars elc. All SEFF'S programmes and services are delivered with the Promotion of positive health and wellbeing al their heart, and the wellbeing of the individual. The public benefit achieved is the facililalion of viclimslsurvivors lo become happier, healthier, and more fulfilled citizens. SEFF'S overall Programme runs under the mission - The Living, not Existing Project. In plain speak this m&ans, we aim lo support vi¢limslsurvivors lo reach a point where they enjoy a quality of lifelliving as opposed lo merely having an exislence. The advancement of citizenship or community development. SEFF offers a range of programmes spiralling Summer Schools, Good Relalions-lhemed identity and culture inilialives, engagement with the Churches, Schools, and wider civic Society. The Public benefit achieved is the fostering of a strong community spirit and the empowerment of viclimslsuivivcfs and other wblic beneficiaries lo lead active and healthy lives. The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage, or scien. Through the provision of courses, seminars, our community allolmenls project, production of memorial quills, photography classes. art pieces elc. We also have a wide range of historical talks which promote OUT rich heritage. As slated above the organisalion also offers a wide variety of cullural-lhemed inlervenlions connecting wlh key dales in the year i.e. Sl Patrick's Day, Burns Night elc. The Public benefit obtained is the increased capacity of victimslsurvivois and the wider community whereby d)ey have an appreciation for the divergence of cultures which comprise in Northern Ireland. Ultimately this has a knock-on benefit for the objective of building Peace within this Society. The advancement of human rights, confticl resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity. A core aspect of SEFF'S work is the furtherance of the human rights of the innocent victims and survivors of terrorism and other 'TToubles felaled violence., SEFF pursues opportunities lo have issues raised through various strategies ensuring that policy is developed in acccfdance wilh the needs of those lo which il primarily affects. The organisalion promotes equality and reconciliation and runs a range of programmeslservis lincluding cross-bofder and Inlernalional-themed projedsl in advancing this objective. SEFF operates an Advocacy Support Setvice, enables vicbmslsurvivors lo share their testimony, oral history projects, productv)n of books and other lileralure plus reports. We continue lo build on OUT partnership working with groups based inlernalionally i.e. COVITE, Spain, 11M group, Spain and CARSA Ministries, Rwanda. We have organised a range of webinars and an in person seminar - Conversation with The Churches, bui¥ing on from our Rwanda Project. The public benefit obtained is that a historically marginalised group of viclimslsurvivors are supported in having their rights iepresenled and furthered, reducing social inequalities. Through providing Conflict Resolution and
South East Fermanagh Foundation Reconciliation-based Programmes there is also a subslanlive public benefit for vidimslsurvivofs and Ihe wider community in the furtherance of a Peaceful and more cohesive Society. The relief of those in need by reason of y¢JJlh, age, ill-heallh, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantages. SEFF strives lo work in meeting the requirements of section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act i.e. supporting under-Tepresenled groups and has developed a range ol inilialives lo support such affected individuals. The oiganisalion has a range of Youth, Older people, disabilily-based supports, and inlervenlions in operation. The groups raison delre is the support of those who are vulnerable, isolated, marginalised and who have often eXperIend profound acts of injuslitt. As well as supporting ils, core beneficiary consliluency, SEFF also has supported members of the broader community, thus conliibuling towards the building of a resilient and resourced community. The Public benefit is the promotion of social inclusion and the increased involvement of under- represented groups which in tum has the impact ol increasing levels of active citizenship. There is no private benefit or harm from the purposes. South East Fermanagh Foundation Financial Review The charitable company receives its income mainly from grants and donations. The expenses of the charity were incurred in the running, staff, and piogramme costs of the projects. The results for the year are sel out in detail on pages 3010 38. The charitable company returned a net income for the year of £63,04112023 - nel income of £43,652). At 3151 March 2024 the lolal funds of the charity amounted lo £258,28712023 - £195.2461 comprising reslricled funds of1£7,2771 and unreslricled funds of £265,734.
