Objectives & Activities
The Ballymoney Evergreen Club was formed in 1956 providing a valuable service to the local community in Ballymoney and the surrounding area.
In relation to all of the purposes of the Ballymoney Evergreen Club, the direct benefits do include, the advancement of social welfare through the advancement of education and the preservation of health and recreation. The enhancement of the physical and mental health of senior citizen members of the Club and improving overall conditions of life for said members. The Ballymoney Evergreen Club will facilitate these benefits through the development of structured programmes that will address health and well-being and providing a better quality of life for all members concerned, this is also achieved by providing educational talks, workshops and best practice visits to enable the committee to improve the programme of activities available to members. The Ballymoney Evergreen Club works closely with other local voluntary and networking organisations to help address issues such as social and rural isolation, community involvement particularly for older people. The Charity continues to develop and explore opportunities for intergenerational activities that will be beneficial to all concerned, in addition, the Ballymoney Evergreen Club will reach out to the wider community in a common effort to tackle loneliness and associated problems. In relation to all of the above the beneficiaries of the Ballymoney Evergreen Club reside mostly in the Ballymoney Borough Council area. Other beneficiaries come from Moyle and Coleraine Council areas. Membership has grown since September 2013. The activities of the Ballymoney Evergreen Club are contributing to increasing opportunities for both community integration and participation, as many of these activities are open to the public. No connected person gains a private benefit which is more than incidental to carrying out the purposes.
The committee manages the day-to-day running of the Charity and provides feedback from the members to the Trustees. The Trustees also act as fundraisers by seeking grants or organising local activities supported by the community to ensure that the Evergreen Club can continue to survive into the future, continuing to provide a much needed support network for the local community.

There was also a raffle held at one of our celebration dinners, this raised a total of £426.00.
The benefits can be measured by the number of members attending the meetings and activities; and by the attitudes and levels of satisfaction expressed by the members. The Evergreen Club meet every Friday afternoon from the beginning of September to middle of June, which may include; talks, activities & workshops. On average each Friday, we would have between 60-65 members attending. During the year we welcomed 12 new members to our club, we did this by word of mouth and encouragement, displaying posters in local premises, we are continuously working to increase our membership and ensure our activities is relevant.
