To develop an awareness and cncoiirage appreciation of Irish culture through the promotion of th¢atre, dram4 poetry, literature, music, visual arts and creative writing. To enoourage participatiun in the arts and Irish cultural activities through the provision of workshops, classes, entertainment, and othcr participative events To provide office accommodation and other workspaccs, facilities and services to encourage the development of the arts and Irish culture. To maintain and manage a cultural arts centrc for activilies promoted by Cumann Culturtha Mhic Reacht&in and in furtherance of the above objectives. In order to carry out these objectives Cumann Cultiirtha Mhic Reachtain are constantly engaging with tlie comniunity via debatL's, disLussion groups and working with young people. Achievements and Performance Cumann Cultiirtlia Mhic Reachtain lias continued to aLhieve its objectives in full and has inLreascd audience and participation numbers in this period. The b¢n¢fits that flow from this piirpose are thc increased awarL'n¢ss ot" the Irish languagL and culture and thc opportunities to access education relating to Irish languagc and culture and to participate in activities through the mcdium of Irisli. Dircct benefits will include promotion of and enjoymL'nt of Irish language and literalure and art in the area of bLnefit. Thesc benefits are evidenced by the increasing nLimber of patrons ot'our centre and participants in oiir activitie% and by feedback from participants at oiir events. Bencficiaries of oiir services are Irish spcakers and learners and thc general public in Ireland. Financial review The trustees havc consistently followed appropriate accounting principles with due diligence. The principal source of funding was that of gyrant funding and is broken down in the attached report and accolints. Cumann Culturtha Mhic Reachtain is indebted to the continued support of these funding bodies to carry out its objeLtives and activities. The major funders in the 202212023 financial year inLluded Foras na Gaeilge, Belfast City Council and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Witliout this funding Cuinann Cultuitha MhiL Redchtcqin would not Lontinue the promotion of Irish Language and culturc througli thc running oftlic ccntrc and the events and activitics held. Structure, Governance and Management The organisalion is a charitable company limited by guarantee. The company was eslablished under a Memorandum of Association which cstablished the objects and pow¢rs of the charitable company and is governed under its Articles of Association. 'I'he organisation is governed by a board of direclors elccted ds part of the Annual General meeting. The board of directors meets every four weeks with the dlrectors reviewing a range of business from governance, organisation objectives, strategic direction, best practice, flinding and a range of ongoing issucs.

When recruiting new trustees, Cumann Culturtha Mhic Reachtain seek to increase or at Icast maintain diversity of its trustees board. The trustees board use a variety of methods to recruit new trustees. These include personal recommendation, word of mouth and advertising to give wide range of applicants. Flowever, due to the nature ()f Ihc organisation being eslablishcd by Irish IAnguage voliinteers, the charity relies on unpaid volunteers to help with the smooth running of events via promotion, attcndancc, and hands on help. This culiure ofvoluntlcring is always encouraged by Cumann Culturtha Mhic Reachtain as wc view the project as a citizen's projLct. Social Inveslment Any social investments are made to fiirther the charitics aims and objectives. This is throiigh providing resources to Irish speakin&y entities to help promotL' the use ot the Irish l.anguage. thi incliides provision ofthe prcmisis to Certain Irish speaking groups whicli is LonsidcrLd as an ancillary to the main Plirpose of Ciimann Cultiirtha Mhic Reachtain. Reserves Rcbcrves are nccdL'd to bridgc thc gap between spending and receiving of income, to cover iinplanned emergency repairs and other uiiforesccn expenditure. Details of the reserves can be seen in the reports and aLLoiints. In the trustee's view, thc reserves sliould provide the charity with adequate financial 8tabiliiy and the means for it to meet it% Lharilable objectives for the foreseL'able futurc. The trusteL s aim to Inain thc charity's reserves at a level which is at least equivalent to six months non-grant funded opcrati()iial expenditurc and have done so having regards to its manncr of operations of likely funding streams.
