Financial review
a. Going concern
After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Company has adequate
resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue to adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further details regarding the adoption of the going
concem basis can be found in the accounting policies.
b. Reserves policy
There were both restricted and unrestricted funds at the end of the year. The Charity finished the year with a
deficit of £2,383 and reserves of £15,601 (a surplus of £2,462 related to general unrestricted funds and a deficit
of £4,845 related to restricted funds).
It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained at a level equivalent to between three and six month's expenditure currently set at £8,000. The
Trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will
be able to continue the charity's current activikn'es while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds
may be raised.
Restricted fijnds arise where gifts or grants are re￿iVed for a specific purpose as outlined by the donor.
Expenditure is distributed in line with these requirements. As of 28 February 2023, restricted funds of £260 were
held, representing unspent grant income re￿iVed during 2023.
