Public Benefit Statement
The purposes of the charity are to support young people with learning disabilities to grow in confidence and provide respite to their families through the provision of social activities. We believe that the programme of activities carried out this year satisfies these purposes catering for a wide range of interests and providing much needed support for families. Our private benefit to volunteers to increase their skills to support our volunteers has also been met through various training courses which has been reflected in increased support for our beneficiaries.
In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries
Financial Review
Our financial outlook is a stable one. Fundraising within the local community and online remains healthy and the support of Carrickfergus Mencap is invaluable to the continuing success of the charity. The charity has no debt or depreciating assets and retains a reserve of six months expenditure.
