Summary of Purpose
Garvagh Community Preschool Playgroup provides a high-quality play based pre-school specialised education for children from the ages of 3 to 5 years, 5 days a week. The service is offered to children across the community and is inclusive of children who have English as a second Language and also children with SEN.
Constitution of Charity and Appointment of Trustees:
The playgroup. Us managed and administrated in correspondence with structure by the management committee. All of the trustees of the management committee are appointed by parents at the AGM meeting held in October of each year.

Activities and Achievements
The Playgroup had a change in location this year which moved to Carhill Integrated School. The playgroup had the use of the school canteen and an office.
This year we have held the Christmas Hamper fundraiser which raised £1670 alongside this were donations from local people/businesses totaling £1100. Our sponsored walk raised a total of £341, craft day raised £14. This totals £3125 altogether.
The playgroup has been working on securing a stand alone premises within the town of Garvagh and this was eventually approved and teaching due to start in September 2024.
The trustees have read and taken regard of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on Public benefit and on public benefit reporting.
Financial Review
The playgroup received funding from the Education Authority of £28,245. £1,746 was received in registration and snack fees. The playgroup shows a deficit of £9,276 at the end of the year.
The playgroup had a smaller number of pupils in attendance which showed a decrease in cost of wages due to less personnel being required however the cost-of-living crisis continues to impact the playgroup.
