Objectives and activities
The Newry Maritime Association carries out the following:

e We promote and carry out research, surveys and investigations and publish the useful results relating to local Maritime heritage.

e Weorganise or assist in organising meetings, training, seminars, training programmes, lectures, classes, workshops and exhibitions, and publish or assist in publishing reports, periodicals, recordings, books or other documents or information.

e We recruit and train volunteers with relevant skills to carry out the objects of the Association. e We work in association with local and statutory authorities and bodies and voluntary organisations engaged in the furtherance of our objects in the area of benefit.

e We establish and support, co-operate with, join or amalgamate with any charitable trusts, associations or institutions formed for all or any of our objects.
Achievements and performance
A comprehensive Trustees annual report is included with these accounts.
Financial position
During the year we received £2,467 in grant income from Newry Council. The other income of the club was from membership fees and donations. The club had a surplus in the year of £4,768.

| report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Newry Maritime Association (‘the charity’) for the year ended 31 March 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 (the ‘2008 Act’). You are satisfied that your charity is not required by charity law to be audited and have chosen instead to have an independent examination.

1. Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity.
2. Trustee remuneration and expenses
Trustees received no remuneration for their services as trustees, and no trustees were employed by the charity.
