Objectives and activities
The Newry Maritime Association carries out the following..
We promote and carry out research, surveys and investigations and publish the useful resu Its
relating to local Maritime heritage
We organ ise or assist in organising meetings. training, seminars, training programmes, lectures,
classes. workshops and exhibitions, and publish or assist in publishing reports, periodicals,
recordings, books or other docurllents or inform3tion.
We recru il and train volunteers with relevant skills to carry out the objects of the Association
We work in association with local and statutory authorities and bodies and voluntary
organisations engaged in the furtherance of our objects in the area of benefit.
We establish and support. co-operate with, join or amalgamate with any charitable trusts.
associations or institutions formed for all or any of our objects.
Achievements and performance
A comprehensive Trustees annual report is included with these accounts.
Financial position
During the year we received £1,494 in grant income from Newry Council for Haulbowline Lighthouse.
The funding received was for Bi Centenary events and lighting ofthe Haulbowline Lighthouse. The other

incoine of the club was from membership fees. donations and payments for events. The club had a
deficit in the year of £569.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Newry Maritime Association
I'the charity'l for the year ended 31 March 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements In
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act l Northern I relandl 2008 (the '2008 Acl'l You are
satisfied that your charity is not required by charity law to be audited and have chosen instead lo have
an independent examination.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's financial statements as carried out under section
S5 of the 2008 Act. I n carrying out my examination I have followed the general Directions g iven by the
Charity Commission for Northern I reland under section 6519llb) of the 2008 Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come lo my attention in connection
with my examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect.
accounting records were not kept as required by with section 63 of the 2008 Act., or
the financial statements do not accord with those records, or
the financial statements do not comply with the accounting requirements of the 2008 Act., or
the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form
and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008
other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter
considered as part of an independent examination.

understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. The financial
slalemenls are prepared in sterling which is the functional currency of the entity.
Trustee remuneration and expenses
Trustees received no remuneration for their services as trustees. and no trustees were employed
by the charity
