Acting Chair(s) Foreword
The last two years have been like no other and yet Autonomie has weathered the considerable challenges Covid 19 has presented.
The use of technology that allowed the service and projects to continue, has now thankfully moved on to greater face to face activities. The projects, Sail and Family Voice Hub have expanded their geographical boundaries beyond Belfast and have included Lisburn and West Belfast.
Staff have built on their success to now include holistic therapies which provides support for the young people and their families.
The fantastic support from Jerome and his team at the National Lottery Community Fund, continues to allow for innovation and embedding of services.
The dedication and hard work of the team culminated this year in a fabulous event at Belfast City Hall, hosted by the Deputy Lord Mayor Tom Haire who made Autonomie one of his charities of the year. The event was the perfect opportunity to showcase the achievement of Autonomie and allowed us to honour Trevor Boyle, founder, and former CEO, with his family and oldest friend in attendance to present the Trevor Boyle Awards.
Opportunities for fundraising presented themselves across the year, including money raised at the Celebration event, participation in the Belfast City Marathon and a show case of the young people’s artwork in selling calendars to name a few.
Our thanks and appreciation for all the staff team, the young people and their families who have helped make this a very successful year.
