Chairperson's Report for the Year Ended 31 August 2024
Good evening everyone,
I am pleased to present the Chairperson's Report for Kesh Primary School Parent Support Group (PSG) for the year ended 31 August 2024.
Once again, this has been a productive and successful year for the PSG. Through the continued support of parents, staff, pupils and the wider community, we have been able to deliver a range of enjoyable events while raising valuable funds to support the school.
During the year, we organised a number of successful fundraising activities and community events. These included our Rugby World Cup Event, Christmas Accessory Day, Valentine's Disco, Family Fun Night and our Christmas Craft Fundraiser. While the Christmas crafts provided families with a lovely keepsake and were well received, the amount of work involved in producing them was immense. Following careful consideration, the committee has agreed that this fundraiser will not be repeated in the coming year.
A particular highlight of our Christmas fundraising was the introduction of Christmas Hampers. These proved extremely popular, generating excellent revenue for the PSG while also adding an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the school's Christmas performances.
We were also very grateful to receive a generous donation of £800 from The Courthouse , following their bake sale. On behalf of the PSG and the school community, I would like to extend our sincere thanks for their support and generosity.
The funds raised throughout the year have enabled us to continue investing in improvements for the school. Most notably, the PSG funded the installation of a shelter in the school courtyard at a cost of £3,000 . This addition will allow pupils to make greater use of the outdoor space throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions.
Looking ahead, we are planning to support the purchase of tablets for classroom use , helping to further enhance learning opportunities and digital resources within the school.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all committee members for their hard work, dedication and support throughout the year. Their commitment ensures that our events run smoothly and continue to benefit the pupils of Kesh Primary School.
I am also delighted to welcome our newly elected committee members, Caithlyn Van Niekert and Louize Bewley , who have been appointed as Joint Treasurers . We look forward to working with them in their new roles. It was also noted that both members should be added to the PSG WhatsApp group to assist with communications and organisation.
As we move into the next year, we are excited about our planned programme of events, which includes:
-
Valentine's Disco
-
Movie and Munch Day
-
Parent Christmas Wreath-Making Event
-
Break the Rules Day
-
Family Fun Day in June
In addition, a Cash-for-Clothes collection has been suggested as a potential fundraising initiative for the coming year and will be explored by the committee.
Finally, I would like to thank all parents, families, staff, volunteers, local businesses and community organisations who have supported the PSG during the year. Your continued encouragement and generosity make a real difference to the experiences and opportunities available to our pupils.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
