Sinead Kavanagh Wencke Rodig Lisa McAuley Ross Coulter THE CONSTITUTION AND GOVERNING OF THE CHARITY There has been no alteration to the Constitution for Ballycarrickmaddy Primary School Parent, Teachers and Friends Association as approved by The Charities Commission N. Ireland (12.05.2014) setting out how the charity is constituted and governed. and we adhere to that absolutely. The Charity continues to be constituted as an unincorporated association. The Charitable aims and purposes of the charity are to advance the education of pupils in the school by: Developing effective relationships between the staff. parents and others associated with the school,. Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils. OPERATION OF THE CHARITY The PTFA is made up of parents of the children, residents in the community and staff of the school who make up the Committee. All parents past and present are encouraged to become actively involved. to assist running a calendar of events and supply the volunteer manpower which is required. As a committee we always evaluate and monitor events or initiatives which we run to ensu that they are as successful as possible and to gauge the opinion of the children and the adults to keep all actively informed. The PTFA feed into the school newsletter which is circulated monthly and update the Fabook page and website with PTFA information on a regular basis. PUBLIC BENEFIT BallyCalckrnaddy Primary School Parent, Teachers and Friends Association is a small charity at present and was delighted to receive registration with the Charities Commission N. Ireland in May 2014. We have several ways in which we contribute to our commitment to Public Benefit.
- Cash for Clobber- Total Raised £1580 Cash for clobber is a scheme aimed at raising awareness of textile recycling among childn. ParentslCarerslAuntieslUncleslFriends and neighbours turned up with cars full of unwanted clothes, shoes etc. We receive 40plkg from Cookstown Textiles who in turn redistribute the items for reuse around the world. We are an Eco School. and we have a strong recycling culture at Ballycarrickmaddy. This school year we held 3 collections: September, January and June (payment received in the following financial year) and we saved 3950kg of Clobber from going to landfill.
- AutumnlHarvest Fun Day - Total Raised £531.69 of which £493.52 was profit. This was a whole school event" children were asked to bring a donation. Children had a fun-filled day where they played harvest games like" pin the nose on the pumpkin, elephant march and pumpkin ring toss. Then, they took turns in class groups decorating harvest cookies. making leaf hedgehogs, leaf pictures and pinecone bird feeders. Their donation also included an enty to our "Decorate a Scarecrow Competition. after which we present prizes to 3 prize winners per class.
- Christmas Raffle - Total profit Raised £2.600 All our prizes were donated by local businesses and BCM families and our top prize a night away in the Culloden Hotel and Spa was donated by a BCM Family. The prizes were varied e.g. family days out. meals. toys, vouchers. Tickets were £1 each and we sold a record breaking 2,625 tickets. We had over 40 exciting prizes to be won.
- BCM Christmas Wooden Baubles- Total Raised £884 of whlch £224 was profit This year we decided to commission our very own wooden BCM Christmas decoration for families to hang on their Christmas Tree for years to come and remember their days at BCM. These sold like hot cakes.

Santa Fun Day - Total Donations Raised £432 This was a whole school event. Children were asked to bring a donation. The event was very generously sponsored by three BCM families giving a total of £1,100 to run the event. It was a top-class event where each child visited Santa Clause in our BCM outside Grotto and received a present. We had a snow machine and a professional photographer who took a photo of each child with Santa and these were presented inside a beautiful bauble on time to hang on their Christmas Tree. Children spent the day having lots of fun doing 5 different Christmas Crafts supplied by the PTFA and listening to Christmas music. They also wore Christmas Jumpers and it was a very successful and happy day for all.

Wear Red Disco - Total Raised £815.25 It was a very happy dayl Finally, we were able to hold our"Wear Red Disco" again, post Covid. There was great excitement and 190 children attended. We charged an entry fee of £3 which included a goodie bag and drink inside the disco. We also sold glow stick bracelets, neCklaS and glow rings.
- Free to enter Easter Fun Packlcompetltion - All the packs whet home with the children over the Easter holidays. We had a great response. Children were given the option to complete Easter activities while off on holiday. These included making an Easter bonnet, decorating an egg, decoding easterjokes and colouring in one of the Easter pictures provided. Prizes were given out to those who entered.
- Easter Raffle - Total Profit Raised £1,529 We reached out to the businesses in our local community for donations. There was great excitement in the school with over 40 prizes of family passes. toiletries. and lots of chocolate! 1.529 tickets were sold at £1 each.
- Break the rules Day - Total Profit Raised £680.80 We held another very successfvl whole school Break the Rules Day- We had non uniform, crazy hair. being know by another name for the day, bring a chocolate treat for break or bring juice instead of water. The children had a fantastic day and there was lots of laughter along with many Ronaldos and Taylor Swifts attending BCM for the day.
- Non-unrform Days - Total Raised £272.66 Children come to school in non-uniform clothing. with a voluntary donation of £1 being suggested. We also held one with no donation required to acknowledge the fact that we have been well supported by parents throughout the year.
- Adult Pub Quiz - Total Raised £615 of which £378.10 was profit This was a new event for BCM. Our aim was to have a fun night to cclebrate the end of the school year. It was great to see so many BCM parents, Aunties. Grandads out enjoN'ino the night. We booked the Crewe Foolball Club for the nighi. We had a prize for each teani per round and over all winners, pri7£S too. The PTFA members out did themseli'es by proi'iding a light supper for all to enjoy. There were sandwiches. tray bakes: lealcoffce and 'OnderfUl cakes. We also held a raffle on the night with fantastic prizes once again donaicd b}, our fantastic BCM families.
- Sports Night + Fairground Games- Total Raised £2680 of which £2123 was profit We held another very successfvl Sports night, with children taking part in their races and stsying on for a BBQ and fun and games. We had a BBQ stall, a cake stall, pre-
loved uniforms stall. a drink stall and an ice-cream stall. The PTFA made the games which included, mouse hole golf. splat the rat. tin-can alley. a duck race, free fa painting, hook-a-duck. penalty shoot-out and a bottle flip. Tickets were sold for fairground games with lots of prizes to be won. There was a fantsstic community feeling around the school with lots of fun and laughter. 13. Pre-loved Uniform sale- Profit £191.65 Throughout the year we accepted donated school uniform items from parents and made them available to other parents for free with optional donations. 14. HMRC Gift Aid - Total Raised £781.15 This was Gift Aid claimed on the Sponsored Walk donations. 15. Easy fundraising- £116.98 and Amazon Smile- £92.45 16. Benevity- Match Funding - Total Raised £319.65 Through the year a member of the PTFA was able to log the hours she spends working on PTFA events with her employer. The employer then matches those hours and pays us her hourly rate (because we are a registered charity). We are very lucky to have such an excellent employer connected with BCM. 17. Donations from BCM families We have been extremely humbled by the amount of very generous donations that we received from BCM families this year. Their donations went towards running events that could then be held at a hugely discounted donationlfee and towards purchasing much needed technology for the dassrooms. Generations of children will benefit from such generosity. The main achievements of the Ballycarrickmaddy PTFA in the year were: 1. A tie for each P7 to proudly wear to their new schools 2. A book for each child in the school for Christmas 3. A £100 grant for each classroom plus SEN totalling £800 4. The purchase of 30 headphones for the Chromebooks £420 5. The purchase of 15 Chromebooks to make a fvll class set of 30 £4,530 (payment falls into next year's books) 6. The purchase of 28 iPads and covers to replace brokenlout of date classroom iPads £8,050 7. The purchase of a new Interactive Whiteboard for P6 £2,900 8. The purchase of a charging station for each classroom to charge 10 iPads at once £585.42 9. Provide half of the cost of the new School Money applpayment system £709 10.The purchase of two charging trolley units. Each take 40 iPads or 40 ChromebookslLaptops £2.187 (payment falls into next years books)

The purchase of Key-stage one equipment (wooden jigsaws. messy play materials, small wodd toys etc. 15.The purchase of a new rug with space for 30 children in P1 £320 16.The purchase of 3 new storage sheds for key stage 1 equipment £1.550 plus slabs £80 and shelving £253 17.The purchase of Maths Equipment £491 18.The purchase of Music Equipment £800 19. Provide a Christmas Fun Day- SantalPresenVPhotographylCrafts- 3 BCM families donated money to cover the costs of this day. 20.A BCM family purchased and erected a colourful pencil fence at the key stage 1 area 21.A BCM family built sleeper beds for outdoor small world play for keystage 1 22. Grass matts were purchased to make the grass area usable during wet weather in the key stage 1 area £504 23. 3tns of gravel was purchased to replenish gravel around the pirate ship £240 24. Sand pit repair £82 25. 1 Tonne of play grade sand was purchased for key stage 1 sand pit The trustees have read the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance and have had regard to this when running the charity. No harm flowed from these objects. Any private benefit was incidental. A review of the charity's financial position at the end of the year: In the financial year to 30 June 2023. The Charity had an income of £35.468.73 and expenditure of £26,212.27. The Charity has £24.834.41 at the financial period end of 30 June 2023. Purchase a Portacabinlclassroom Purchase a bike rake for those who cycle to school Purchase 4 wireless head set microphones for stage productions Purchase ICT equipment (Beebots and Mats) Hold more free to enter competitions Hold a "lads and dads" event to encourage dads to get involved in school life Save more clobber from landfill while raising funds for BCM Bring back movie night Subsidise P7 year-end trip There are no funds held by the charity that are materially in deficit. Apart the £in the bank, the charity has no other assets or liabilities.
